AVA Hotel & Suites

We had the pleasure of staying here for 3 nights and there is clearly a reason this hotel is ranked so high by travelers. First would recommend using Free Now to actually get to the hotel. The app is easy to use and it is always nice to know how much it is going to cost you to get here. It is quite a long ways from the airport and the thought of getting to the hotel with American sized suitcases to save some money seemed ill advised especially when you have more than one person. The location is absolutely wonderful. Close to everything especially the Acropolis along with numerous restaurants and shops. But still on a quiet street so rest was not an issue. The metro station was very close which was important to us since we did a day trip to Meteora with a tour company. The room was more than adequate. We were able to hook up our Amazon Fire without difficulty. Beds were fairly firm and comfortable. There is a small kitchenette which was nice through we did not use it a lot. Still a nice option particularly for families. AC was great as was the WiFi. Had no issues with either. We booked the room directly with them and there are options in terms of the booking such as tickets to the Acropolis and the museum as well. That was a great relief as they handed us an envelope as we checked in. They also gave us an option of a private tour guide for 4 hours which was well worth it. I would ask for Liana who was extremely informative. It absolutely provided texture to the history instead of just looking at structures or pushing numbers on an audio guide. Breakfast was included and ample. Eggs and bacon were made to order. Orange juice was freshly squeezed. Finally the staff are fantastic and truly are the reason for its high rating. Very friendly. Extremely helpful. One even waited with us outside the front door as we were waiting for our transportation to the airport. Would definitely stay here again. Enjoy.
