Changsha Milky Way Hotel

We stayed two nights at the Milky for work and overall enjoyed our stay. It was redecorated in that last two years, thank goodness, as it was terrible before that! My room was really nice, with a good bathroom and clean. Included is a kettle, drinking water, wifi, tv, computer screen, toiletries (surprising as many hotels in Changsha don't provide these and they didn't use to). The rates are low and you get good value for money. Breakfast is great if you are Chinese, but perhaps not so great if you aren't! Front desk service was good, we speak Mandarin so there were no communication problems, but I'm not sure what their English is like. Very convenient for the main train station (5-10 minutes walk away) and the tube (5 minutes walk away), which in turn connects you to the rest of the city. We took the tube to the South train station (for high speed trains), which was brilliant, much faster and more convenient than taking a taxi (20-30 minutes). Also, there is a bus to the airport literally just round the corner from the hotel. All in all, a very good stay and will be using it again.
