My husband and I really enjoyed staying with Lothar in Banff.  He was tremendously hospitable and took care of our every need.  The location in Banff was wonderful as it allowed us to walk easily to town and several hikes.  It is probably not the most glamorous or up-to-date accommodation, but we felt it was a very good value compared to other places we stayed on our trip to the Canadian Rockies.

Great place and a kind, caring host. It was nice having our own little kitchenette. Fridge was well stocked and every morning we had meat, cheese and fresh muffins brought up. Only a short walk to Banff Avenue which was a real plus as finding a parking place is a nightmare especially on the weekends. A real find for the price. 

We arrived at Heidi’s B&B to find it a building site.  Lothar answered the door and said ‘Oh no, not again!  Only last week booking.com signed somebody in while we are refurbishing and also, as you, booked two double rooms.  I’ll get on the phone on Monday and give them a piece of my mind’.  He then led us to the Banff Inn where he had booked us a room.  I cannot praise Lothar enough for his initiative; without it we would have had a miserable arrival and first evening in Banff.  Catching a glimpse of the work going on at Heidi's' it's going to be very comfortable and will have character and quaintness as well – also the admirable Lothar.

Great location less then a 5 min walk to Banff Avenue and all the shops and bars. Our room was very spacious, clean and cosy. Very quirky with lots of personal touches around the room. I found the room to be very clean and warm and a great breakfast each morning. It is really good value.

Wonderful Stay

A very caring host

Good value in cosy quirky B & B

We stayed here 3 nights and the owner is very welcoming and helpful. We stayed in the 'suite' which comprises a small bedroom, living room, tiny kitchen and bathroom. Breakfast is brought round by the owner the evening before and we ate it at the table in the living room. Breakfast was cereal, bread for toast, yogurt and fruit- ample for a days hiking. The bedroom is not really a room as it doesn't have a door just a curtain and is so small you can only get into the bed from one side. The b&b is close to the main part of town and you can clearly hear the trains in the night. 

Having read previous reviews we didn't find the accommodation dirty just a bit shabby and desperately in need of a makeover/ new furniture. I know accommodation is expensive in Banff but I felt we paid too much for the standard of what we got.
