A must stay if you are visiting Fort William.  The views of Ben Nevis are awesome whist you enjoy a tasty breakfast.  Elona and her husband made us feel very welcome and at home.  Beds were comfortable and the room and bathroom extremely clean.

I cannot recommend this beautiful B&B high enough.

Great couple , wonderful hosts . Area was magnificent and the accommodation was lovely. Couldn't do enough to help. Comfortable bed and big bathroom with shower and bath . Lots of local information available and both ilona and gavin were very open to chatting, ilona even washed a few clothes for us ..Great breakfast too.. I'd stay again and can recommend you stay here , check out the stunning woodland .. super friendly and it was a wonderful stay / experience. 

A gem of place to stay as a base for the three of us to hike up Ben Nevis and a starting point for cycling the Great Glen Way. Set in a remote-ish country setting overlooking Ben Nevis this property has a self contained lounge area and two bedrooms with ensures. The beds and rooms were extremely comfortable, clean and tidy - very homely. Our host Ilona was lovely very hospitable, friendly and engaging, happy to help with local knowledge and provided an excellent breakfast to set us up for the days rigours. Cant think of any negatives. Will definitely book again if available when we next visit the area.

An amazingly located bed and breakfast, with a stunning view of Ben Nevis. Very friendly owners and an adventurous road leading up to this Bed and Breakfast. Wonderful and welbehaved dogs (no trouble at all), and very good breakfast. Bed was very comfortable and we really felt at home.

Myself and my two sons stayed with Ilona for 2 nights. Such a peaceful spot. We loved the location ( the James Bond entrance as my sons called it), the amazing breakfast and the abundance of hot water. Banavie is a great alternative to other FW locations and the road north from the B&B is an exceptional drive with great views across the glen. Neptune Staircase is very close by. My youngest son loved the horses and lambs which were nearby. We wanted to stay another night but sadly it was booked out well in advance and for good reason. Many thanks for making our long weekend so memorable.

Perfect! Idyllic setting; comfortable, spacious room; five-star breakfast; and a lovely host who gave great local advice about things to see and do. We would definitely stay again. Fort William was a delight, Steall waterfall particularly worth as visit.

Shepherds Rest was exceptionally clean with a very well equipped kitchen, comfortable living & bedrooms. The scenery was outstanding. Owners always on hand for a friendly chat or to say hello to their pets, but not intrusive. A great place for touring around & wonderful walks or a dip in the river at the bottom of the garden

Returned to this lovely, friendly B&B after a year away to find it is still as warm, friendly and quiet as ever.
I love the quirky tunnel you have to go through to get there and once there Ilona and Gavin can’t do enough for you.

Directions, drying clothing, recommended walks, cycle routes or restaurants, nothing is too much trouble.

My  bed was so comfortable I didn’t want to get out of it but the full breakfast made it worthwhile - best fresh eggs and black pudding anywhere!

I cannot wait to get back to the Highlands again and won’t consider looking to stay anywhere else.

We booked because of the reviews and we weren't disappointed. Ilona is lovely and so friendly. The B and B is accessed through a tunnel which made it feel unusual. We loved it! Thank you Ilona for your friendly welcome , we really enjoyed meeting you and staying at your lovely home.

We just been couple of nights with our toddler, beautiful and peaceful stay!
Very clean place, owners are lovely and very welcoming.
We were offered full breakfast which was outstanding.
Place is very peaceful and immersed in pure nature.
Located just few minutes by car from Fort William, definitely would come back and recommend!

I chose this B&B because of the great reviews and also because of its proximity to the Tor Castle ruins - they aren’t impressive by any means but I wanted to see them! The ruins are a very short (3-minute) walk from the B&B. Ilona was very kind and did laundry for me, thank you so much! The rooms are sizeable with lots of storage. Location is good, not too far from Fort William or Spean Bridge but be prepared to drive windy singletrack and through a very narrow tunnel to get there! Overall, highly recommend!

Lovely place , nice and quiet and clean , the owners are lovely ,  great location , nice breakfast in the morning ,  5 mins to fort William , stayed for 2 nights with 3 children ,  easy to find , and away from it all , but only 5 mins away from fort William

Great stay

We stayed 2 nights here ( for the second time) and had a wonderful time!The drive down through the tunnel is quirky. The accommodation is spotless and the hosts are extremely helpful and kind. They went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and relaxed. The setting is stunning and peaceful yet close to Fort William and all amenities. We stayed in “Heather” a king size en-suite room which was perfect. Breakfast was delicious- a huge bowl of fresh fruit ( melon, strawberries and blueberries) followed by scrambled eggs and smoked salmon and as much fresh coffee as we wanted.  I would strongly recommend a stay here!

Strongly Recommend Torcastle House B&B!

We stayed at this B&B for one night as part of a longer trip. It was a nice quiet location and the owners and their son were really helpful. The accommodation was nice a good size and clean. The breakfast was excellent. A little way out of town but quiet and a lovely view of Ben Nevis. Worth the effort!
