The Kings Arms

The food and drink was fantastic. The staff very helpful and their pub experience great! I wish we had more time allocated to experience this lovely part of the country. Also the cab service was fantastic and very flexible.

I couldn’t fault The Kings Arms, from the friendly, helpful welcome to the spotless accommodation, I had a double room for myself with an immaculately clean en suite which was very spacious. The bed was very comfortable which was ideal as I was using it after some long walks all weekend. The free WiFi was a bonus and the tv in the room accessed lots of streaming channels for chilling in the evening.Breakfast was catered to your choices and was an ideal start to long days out walking. On my return in the evening I was able to eat in with a delicious and varied menu where the hosts went out of their way to provide this, even though they had a busy bank holiday weekend of regular diners.I would recommend this establishment to anyone wishing to stay in the Thirsk area as it is only a few miles out of the town in a quiet village. I would definitely use it again.

Hidden Gem near Thirsk

Overall great experience with only a few little things letting it down; The bed was two singles pushed together so not great when there different heights and your 6ft2 and 18stn, the extractor unit in the bathrooms sounding like a Boeing 747 is arriving and sadly the "thing" I can only describe as that as I'm unsure what it was snoring for one night (could here every breath) 

HOWEVER the good outway the bad by an absolute mile, the staff are fabulous and the young lady who was on each night behind the bar was so welcoming and friendly (even when I locked myself out my room) 
The bed although 2 singles was as a single extremely comfortable and clean with soooo many pillows to pick from 🥰🥰

The food was lush, with the lady behind the bar making recommendations on my final night she was bang on the money with the cheesecake and the katsu chicken burger 🤤🤤 ate here all 3 nights no reason to go anywhere else.

The highlight as random as this is was the........ BATH. OMGOSSSSHHH the most amazing bath I've ever come across in a hotel so deep and long and wide and just.. I want the exact same for home. Even at 6ft+ I soaked there for hours and I'm not one for having a bath in a hotel. ALSO FREE WI-FI 

Definitely would stay again even if it was just for the bath and cheesecake 😁

Stayed for 1 night in November with my husband. We arrived early and although our room wasn’t ready we were able to leave our luggage at the hotel and it was taken to our room for when we checked in later.  
The hotel is clean and staff friendly. We had a hot breakfast at the hotel which was cooked to perfection. 
Although the location is fairly rural Thirsk is close, (around a 10 minute drive)

Lovely little find

The hotel was lovely, friendly, gorgeous breakfast and was most enjoyable stay. We arrived at the hotel early and managed to get into our room early which was a major benefit. There was only one issue which you cant blame the hotel for, we had some really noisy guests next door in another room which was rather scary due to the noise being created. If the noise had carried on then would have considered calling the police as we did not have a number to contact at the hotel in an emergency.

I stayed here one Saturday night after a few days travelling. I was looking for something a bit different from the usual (but normally ok) Premier Inns that I often use. This pub is just a few miles away from the A1M. 
In advance I requested a room with a bath and was really happy with the room allocated. A nice pub atmosphere;  a couple of pints of real ale; a good meal; a good nights sleep after a soak in a great deep bath and a lovely breakfast.
Nice place. Pleasant staff. Great place to stay.

Lovely Pub Stay

This is our 2nd visit to this lovely pub where we stayed for 2 nights and ate in the pub restaurant both nights. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. The food in the restaurant is amazing, as is the cooked breakfast and everybody at the pub is very warm and welcoming. Highly recommended and we will definitely return.

Return Visit

Beautiful BandB.  I arrived at 930 as pub was closing which was a shame.Room was fresh and very well cared for but freezing.  The thermostat on the radiator did not control the radiator and i could not get it working so was very cold.  The radiator came on in the morning which tells me it was switched off the previous evening! On morning of check out which is 11am, i was woken by the housekeeper letting herself into my room.  Not happy

Two nights spent at this wonderful Inn. The room was warm and comfortable. The atmosphere was welcoming and the staff were very friendly and accommodating.
The food in the restaurant was very, very good. Really full of flavour and lots of it, with a good selection of different cuisines on the menu.
We would certainly stay again.

Really good food!

A lovely overnight stay and excellent food in this great country inn near to Thirsk. 
Everyone we met at the Kings Arms was very helpful and welcoming and we would definitely return. 
Our room was very comfortable and we had a great nights sleep after enjoying an excellent evening meal in the restaurant. Service matched the great quality of food that we had.
Breakfast the following morning was equally as good as our evening meal and was sufficient to keep us full for the rest of the day. 
This hotel was a great find and we would definitely recommend !

A great overnight stay

Dropped in on the way to the bird of prey centre. Food was amazing. We had 2 sandwiches, one steak and a fish and chip one. Everything looked home made, chips still looked potato shaped, onion rings were obviously home made. The fish and chip sandwich was huge, 3 slices of bread. I had the additional mushy peas and they were also great. Staff were friendly and helpful. Will return if we are ever in the area again.
