Darwin Forest Country Park

We have just returned from a 7 night stay at Darwin Forest and we thoroughly enjoyed it. We were in lodge 7 which was a perfect location for all the on-site amenities. The lodge itself was perfect for us. Great size and comfortable. Fully equipped with everything we needed. The hot tub was a perfect temperature and was checked daily by staff. We enjoyed the peaceful woodland walks and the kids enjoyed doing the trim trak activities. Free swimming was great and we went most days. I would say that it would have been better to have 1 swim lane instead of two as every time we were in the pool there were very little people swimming in the lanes and it would have provided more space for the families to play. My daughter did the jet ski activity in the pool and she loved it, the instructor was great. She also did the kids zumba which she enjoyed. We also enjoyed the free golf and the kids loved the soft play centre. Definitely recommend the Matlock Park Farm which is less than a mile from Darwin Forest. Probably the best farm I have been to. Ask at reception for a 20% discount. We also visited Bakewell and Matlock which were short drives away. All in all, a great holiday and we will definitely visit again.
