Room was basic but very clean, secure and renovated. Pub was pleasant with excellent food. Overall stay was good value.

Great location just off the M5 near Exeter. Subtly decorated for Christmas and has masses of outside space for all year events. Great selection of local Cask Ales. I'm here with a camper van for an overnight stop. Very welcoming. Excellent menu choices at very fair prices for high quality on site prepared foods. We decided to book a table for our family Christmas gathering this year at the Blue Ball and we were not disappointed. Everything was amazing from the planning with Nat, the high quality, delicious food, and the exceptionally accommodating friendly staff.  It was fantastic from start to finish.

Popped in on a Sunday lunchtime just for a drink.. the staff ,especially the guy that served us could not have been more welcoming...we had our doggie with us who was treated to a drink (bowl of water) 😉 and some doggie treats.. definitely Sunday lunch next time .. first class service

Revamped interior and food has gone up a level too. Red curry, and venison sausage and mash and monkfish, all were fantastic. Staff were chatty and knowledgeable about the food too. Always busy on rugby days but worth a visit just for the food

Fantastic meal and overnight stop , The staff , Josh,  Belle  ,Sonia and Millie  were excellent 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. Saturday night  , really friendly and made us feel very welcome  , will most certainly return in the near future

The attentive, friendly & really happy  staff working in the restaurant at lunch time  was just what was needed. We visited to have a catch up with friends & we couldn’t  fault the staff. They were super attentive and replaced a coffee when they realised they had made an error. Thank you so much !

We had our wedding breakfast here & from start to finish Natalie was absolutely amazing!!!. From the first booking of the venue & accommodation to the actual day,not once was Natalie unavailable for my many questions I had. She reassured us,explained in detail & delivered everything that was promised. As for the food....OMG!!!!. We cannot express just how amazing this was!!!!. The presentation,the taste & the very impressive delivery of it,by the most amazing staff,Josh you really was amazing,along with the girls & again Natalie's organisation skills played a huge role. All food was brought out prompt & hot & definitely didn't disappoint. The service by all the staff was spot on. We was made to feel like a king & queen!!!. The whole day was superb,both myself & my husband were very impressed on how organised everything was,how the decorations were laid out & looked superb & how all of our guests & ourselves were looked after throughout the whole breakfast. My father was also taken very good care of,which was extremely important to me & Natalie made sure all his food was pre cut up & made it very manageable for him. It dosent stop there...the accommodation was amazing!!. Everything you needed was there & the decorations of all the rooms are lovely. I know Natalie has spent a lot of thought & time to making them as amazing as they are & it's paid off. Beds exceptionally comfy,adequate heating,en suite bathrooms with lovely soft towels provided & really good facilities are just brilliant. The pre wedding & after wedding breakfasts were to die for!!!. Local produce & everything so fresh. Natalie & the staff went out of their way to accommodate myself & my bridesmaids,as we needed a very early breakfast & again,it was never an issue. Everything was laid up & ready for our arrival. Overall,our whole experience from start to finish was exceptional & more. I would recommend anyone to come along & see for themselves at what amazing,efficient,professional & exceptional service you will receive. Once again,Natalie & all the staff,from Ems & Robs,thank you so so much. You were the ones that made our day so so special & we will always be forever grateful.... Xxxxx

Great service, always polite and have the best food. The bar tender was very interactive and knew lots about the area and the pub, the pub is based in a very nice area and pours on of the best Guiness I have ever had,overall great pub and best in the area

What a wonderful wedding reception hosted by The Blue Ball Inn. 40 guests, aged 7 - 90, with corresponding needs, seated comfortably, and served by the most welcoming and efficient staff. This is not pub food: the menu is a culinary triumph. The unusual slow-cooked beef cheeks are the most succulent, "to die-for" meat, with the cauliflower purée light and subtle (I don't like cauliflower but this didn't taste of it, and it counterbalanced the meat perfectly.) The seasonal vegetables were plentiful and perfectly cooked - not overcooked! I loved the crinkly cabbage. You could taste the freshness in all the ingredients - my crab and prawn salad entrée was a delightful appetiser. And the desserts!  - Something individual in each and you would swear you were tasting ambrosia. They looked stunning, all helpings were generous, and a very good time was had by all at a most reasonable price for the exceptional gastronomic experience. Bravo to the new chef at the Blue Ball, and to the charming serving staff. Thank you!

Exceptional Cuisine and Service

My dad and I popped in for lunch on a whim. The staff were welcoming and the food was delicious. A traditional pub with top food and I would thoroughly recommend it. I've only not put 5 stars because the service could have been slightly improved, we were trying to get their attention to order wine and request a spoon but other than that this is top notch.

Delicious food and friendly welcome

Stayed here with a few friends recently for a little reunion. The pub is really welcoming with a large beer garden and very friendly staff.

The accomodation, while quite basic, was very comfortable and also great value for money. It's very easy to access the pub from the M5 (either direction).

The highlight of our stay was probably the generous and delicious cooked breakfast, served up by the super friendly Babs who was brilliant throughout our visit. We'll be back again soon! 

Amazing breakfast and friendly staff

Myself and my new husband have just had our wedding here. We arrived with drinks on arrival, we moved on to a sit down wedding breakfast. We went to our meal area and it was decorated to perfection(I entrusted the staff to use my decorations and how they decorated was perfection!) I said wow a lot! Timing was perfect food was perfect, hot and no mistakes. Everything ran so so smoothly. We then moved on after the meal to the outside area for our evening do. The staff bought our decorations and cake outside. (Pics included) They put everything where I wanted and again look beautiful. We had an outside bar also. We were able to have a full set up dj there and a bouncy castle. The staff always made sure we was happy and comfortable even down to getting me paracetamol and cream for the bite on my arm:) alll the staff were so lovely but the main lady was Natalie, she made the wedding! She was caring, comforting, decorated everything down to a t. She went above and beyond. After our partying we stayed in one of the rooms located next to the car park. Again, no complaints. The next morning we had. A LOVELY breakfast. I would totally recommend here to have your wedding and stay you will not be disappointed!!!

Our wedding day one of our best days ever

We visited today as a large group after the Chiefs match. The staff were all so lovely and welcoming and accommodating and the roast beef was absolutely perfect, delicious pudding and outstanding service. 
Thankyou for all being so lovely to 
a rather loud but extremely appreciative group. 
Will definitely be back soon!!

Perfect Sunday

We chose this Inn,  as it is close to Exeter Westpoint Arena, where we had a stand for 2 days and needed somewhere nearby to relax! We weren’t disappointed, we loved our stay very much, cosy, warm and clean room with a nice large shower and a very tasty dinner served by the amazing team Maxine, Halina & Luke. The Seafood Linguine was the tastiest I ever had and plenty of seafood! My partner enjoyed the perfectly cooked Ribeye steak very much. The team served us very well but were also such a good laugh, we will definitely stay again. Ok, you can hear the road but the windows are good and filter most of it, not much traffic in the night anyway.

Perfect stay, great food & friendly staff

Wonderful staff, they were so accommodating pre our lunch in terms of menu choices and table planning. Then on the day, 38 us were at lunch before the  Exeter rugby game. The quality of food and the great service made our late Christmas do.  Nothing was to much trouble for them, whether it was organising drinks, tables or anything we requested. I would 100%!recommend the Blue Ball Inn for any occasion. You rarely get service like this any more. Thank you to all your staff
