We had a very nice stay at the Conon Hotel. The staff was very attentive and helpful. We stayed for both dinner and breakfast, and both meals were very nice!The hotel is clean and looks well maintained.

Had a wonderful overnight stay here. Lovely room and facilities. Staff ever so friendly. Great food. Would highly recommend

This is a real gem The amazingly fluffy towels, the super soft bed linen and the beautifully cooked meals.Plus the super friendly staff, especially the bar man, owner of the lovely dog Guinness who showed us to our room and looked after us in the bar. All in all a great place to stay.

Our stay was excellent. Staff being very helpful, bed comfortable, clean room & shower with bath also.

Very nice stay

Relaxing & comfortable way taking in 2025 .

On the plus side, our room was spacious and clean enough, if basic and slightly shabby, and breakfast was plentiful. From the hotel signage with missing letters, to the mildewed fire escape and piles of old garden furniture in the rear car park area, the hotel had an air of neglect and need of a lot of TLC. The building itself could be stunning with some effort and money, but a basic cosmetic makeover would go a long way.

Disappointing

Many reviewers have stated the poor standard of this hotel so I won't go into any further details, except to say that it is sadly lacking in maintenance.  As a result one gets the impression that the hotel might fall to pieces at any minute.

The standard of cleanliness is very good considering the conditions the maid has to work with.  Food was average and average price for the area.  My breakfast butter was turning rancid but I had an appointment to get to, so didn't spend time making an issue out of it.  It was ok for one night but I would not like to stay for longer.

Disappointing.

I've travelled and stayed, for over 4 decades, in all sorts of places, in very cheap accommodation so I know what roughing it feels like. Usually I don't mind because I want cheap but decided, on this occasion to go for up-market at the end of a cycling tour. However this was such a disappointment and the price was a joke. It's basically a £20 overnight stay but it cost £45!! Some indicators: peeling wallpaper, mold under the sink, towel rail hanging off, basin light & socket not working, bedside light needed extension leads eventually found in a cupboard, no en-suite, tiny bathroom with mold on tiles, and no plug for the bath, miserable,rude and very unpleasant waitress at breakfast which was pitiful. But the worst thing of all were the mattresses which were so old and/or cheap that you could see the springs and they protruded such that I could only sleep by doubling my duvet under me like a sleeping bag. This was worse than the cheapest backpacker's hostels. It was so bad as to be almost funny. Fawlty Towers comes to mind. I blame the owner, probably exploiting underpaid staff in awful conditions. Complained and got £10 back but even £35 is a joke. So don't go there!!!

The pits and ridiculously over-priced

I came in for a pint and i got "What you doing coming in at this time 8.25pm and your only having a pint !" With attitude. I vwry nearly walked out but my two friends were at the bar. I got told to hurry up because were closing. I have never been spoken to like that in any pub or hotel.
