Fantastic hotel - beautiful old building on top of the hill with stunning views. Stayed with our young children (3 and 5) in a family room. Room was spacious, spotless and had everything we needed for a 5 night stay. Plenty of white towels and toiletries. Dual aspect windows to appreciate the view. Breakfast was very good quality and it was lovely to be served a la carte instead of a buffet that you often get these days. The indoor swimming pool was the icing on the cake - with floor to ceiling views of the sea - it was warm and well maintained. We didn’t try the outdoor pool but maybe would give it a go next time. I’m confused by the negative reviews - perhaps the experience varies room to room but we would absolutely stay again and will return next year. Suggestion that the hotel should be modernised is bizarre - the history and features of the place add to the charm. The only improvement from our perspective would have been to have the bar open as a regular thing - but a minor point. The staff have been very friendly, professional and helpful. We left this morning and we wished we had stayed longer!
