Amazing stay from check in to leaving, nothing was to much trouble. Beautiful room comfortable beds temperature controled rooms to gour own taste. Managwr was friendly and nothwr was to much trouble. Highly recommended. Woll stay again

Good location for our needs, lovely bar downstairs, convenient for food. Several cafes and shops close by, and easy walking distance to Llandaff cathedral.

Really friendly welcome on arrival. Staff were really helpful throughout our stay, nothing was too much trouble. Would like to give a big thanks to Chris who greeted us on arrival. Room was was really comfortable and we had everything we needed.Really enjoyed our meals, we had dinner in the evening and cooked breakfast in the morning. Couldn’t fault either. Good selection for breakfast - cooked, continental, omelettes, pancakes. Would definitely recommend Maltsters Arms, and would stay here again.

The young girl who checked us in could not have been more friendly and helpful. Actually really impressive in her attitude and way she dealt with staff and customers alike. Lovely room. Were it my hotel I would put mattress toppers on the beds as they are a bit tired. Lovely breakfast.

We came for a Sunday lunch on 9th Feb. Lovely welcome by the friendly manager (I assume). Everything is ready for us and drinks orders taken straight away. Food arrived with perfect timing and was gorgeous. Lots of different condiments offered. We had a perfect, relaxed Sunday afternoon. I was impressed.

Such a lovely pub. Decor is gorgeous staff friendly and welcoming 
Visited after seeing a concert in cathedral 
Ordered 3 meals. Unfortunately the steak wasn’t cooked to liking. Had table checks after serving taken place I’m sure it could’ve been rectified however this didn’t happen 
So thank goodness the server who cleared table took the meal off the bill which totally was appreciated

Best food we’ve had here

Made it right

Walked into a very busy pub/restaurant and thought "oh no - this is going to be very noisy"..... BUT actually had a great stay here.  The rooms area was very well soundproofed and quiet.  The room we stayed in was on the main road and yet was very quiet .... even during the night with the windows open. Topped off by a lovely, freshly prepared breakfast.
The room and bathroom were very clean.  The photos of the room don't do it justice.  It wasn't huge, but it was plenty big enough.  Great value for money.
The Inn itself also has good beer and a great atmosphere - hence it being so busy when we arrived.  
We will definitely stay again.

Surprising (to me at least!) gem of an inn - great night's sleep and good breakfast.

I was a little disappointed to discover that The Maltsters was part of the the Marstons portfolio but my impression was quickly changed by the charming staff and excellent facilities. My accommodation was an excellent size but I'm not so sure about the double ended bath in the bedroom. In addition there was a bathroom with an excellent shower, double basin and toilet. 

The restaurant does not offer high end food but what it offers hot and of a fairly good standard. For both nights that I stayed (Monday and Tuesday) the restaurant was very busy with families, friends etc. 

The biggest positive about The Maltsters is the staff who were welcoming, charming and efficient. A big plus!

So much better than I anticipated

Great location for the Cathedral at the other end of the high street and we stayed in the wonderful Llandaff Cathedral Family Room.  wonderful shower and very comfortable bed. Excellent classic cooked breakfast (meat & vegan). But best of all was the service from Chris, Ben and the rest of the team (sorry forgotten the young ladies names) we had two great evening meals and our fellow choristers also enjoyed the food and drink (they were staying at the uni) Excellent pints of Rev James (perhaps had too many!!) Great to have secure free parking too. Thank you!

Fantastic service , the staff were great and looked after us very well.  We really enjoyed our stay and the room was exceptionally comfortable for the money we paid.  Especially as there was a big gig at the principality stadium and many places hike the prices up.  Coffee and tea facilities in the room is really good plus a lovely comfortable bed and a very clean room.  
The breakfast was delicious.  We also are burger and chips and had a couple of drinks which were good .  Overall I enjoyed my one night stay and would definitely go back .

Fantastic for a gig night at the stadium

We went as a family for the cabaret night. The entertainment provided by Chris was first rate, singing many well known songs from the shows.He has a great voice worthy of the West End, delivering the songs in a funny and entertaining way. The food provided was excellent and the service by the staff, headed by Ben, was first rate. Many thanks to Chris and the team for a fabulous night of entertainment, food and drink. Looking forward to the next event

Fabulous Evening.

I have stayed here several times and hope to return again.  Comfortable, welcoming, easy to reach from the city centre and feels like a real place, not a corporate airport lounge .  It is small, just a few rooms attached to the pub restaurant. Easy bus ride to Cardiff centre and railway station. Feels safe and friendly to woman travelling on my own. Again, not everywhere manages this. If you have time- and it isn't raining there is a pleasant stroll down past the cathedral to the river Taff. Food is good, breakfast freshly cooked. A real pleasure to stay here.  

Return visit.

The staff went out of their way to make our stay perfect.  We needed a place to store our luggage while we toured the city waiting for our train. They allowed us to leave the bags in the room and if they needed the room Ben offered to store them in his personal room. When we needed a cab, they made the calls for us. It was a really nice stay and I'd recommend it for anyone.
