We had a fantastic 2-night stay at Denecrest Guest House in Windermere. The host was welcoming, friendly, and very helpful. Our room was clean, comfortable, and cozy, perfect for our little family.The location is ideal, just a few minutes from Windermere town, close to shops, and near a park, which was great for our toddler. We appreciated the secure lock system and the cleanliness of the facilities.Although we did not have breakfast, the tea and coffee station, fridge, and microwave were very useful for preparing our child’s bottles and a warm drink for ourselves after a day of exploring. The room also included TV, Netflix, and WiFi. Lovely quiet environment which was ideal for us, and the beds were very comfortable.We also loved the little entertainment corner in the dining room with books and games. Our child especially enjoyed playing with the Lego that the host kindly provided.It was a wonderfully pleasant stay, and we would highly recommend Denecrest Guest House and would happily return ourselves.Thank you for such a lovely stay and for making us feel so welcome. We really appreciated your kindness and all the little touches that made our visit so comfortable. Our little one especially loved it. We’ll definitely stay again next time we’re in Windermere.

Lovely stay at the Denecrest Guest House. It was clean and tidy and the room had everything we needed. Ian was very friendly and gave helpful advice about where to go in the area.  The breakfast was also delicious! The hotel is in a great location- close to the train station and restaurants/pubs close by too, so a good place to stay if you don’t have a car. Also a pleasant walk to Bowness-on-Windermere where there is access to the lake. Would definitely stay there again.

Stayed for 2 nights hosts Ian Christine were friendly had some nice chats ,breakfast was very good full English with toast coffee or tea and juice and cereal if you want, you’re right in middle of Windermere 2 minutes to shops restaurants , had 2 good nights sleep couldn’t fault our little break will hopefully be back next year .

Just done a 2 night stay at the Denecrest, and thoroughly enjoyed it.
The location is great for exploring the South Lakes, and locally Windermere and Bowness are walkable, or a short bus ride away.
The room was clean, and fully functional with all amenities, such as Tea / Coffee etc, clean Towels and comfy bed.
Ian and Christine (Mine Hosts) are passionate about their business, and the Lake District, and ever so friendly.
Overall a great stay.

The bedrooms were clean and very comfortable, the en suit also spotless and efficient. Ian and Christine could not have been friendlier or more welcoming if they tried, Christine’s breakfasts in particular were delicious and cooked to order each morning. 
Windermere town centre is a 2 minute walk away with nice restaurants and pubs, Bowness-on-Windermere in about a 20 minute walk and is a slightly larger town with larger selection of restaurants, shops and bars. 
Windermere is stunning in itself but also the the perfect location for exploring the rest of the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales. Perfect quiet little B&B for couples and families alike who are after a scenic staycation.

Just got home from a 3 night stay at The Denecrest.  The accommodation was nice and clean, breakfast was good and the hosts were most welcoming and informative.  Our room (room 2) was on the smaller side which we was aware of beforehand and had a double and single bed with an en-suite toilet, wash hand basin and shower enclosure. The room had a wardrobe with plenty hangers and chest of drawers, TV and facilities to make a couple of hot drinks.  There was no iron or hair dryer but I suspect they would be made available if requested, but we didn’t have the need for them. The only thing that didn’t suit me was the double bed was quite firm so I ended up sleeping in the single, but that’s personal to me, as my wife and daughter had a good nights sleep in it regardless.  Snacks and drinks can be consumed in the room, but no takeaway foods or meals (which we believe to be a positive thing to avoid the smell lingering).  The Denecrest is 5minutes max walk into Windermere or a gentle 20 minute walk into Bowness.  Overall a pleasant stay!

Ian and Christine were about as welcoming as any couple could possibly be. We stayed for 9 nights, had an amazing cooked breakfast every morning. Our room was compact but comfortable with tea and coffee making facilities that were replenished daily. Towels were replaced every 3 days. Their enthusiasm for the Lake District was infectious. We had a really lovely stay. 

I stopped here the last couple of days with my wife and our 10 month old daughter.

From the off Ian was very welcoming and making our time very comfortable.

The rooms are clean and well presented.

The location is great for access to windermere.

Would definitely recommend!

Staycation

We stayed in Denecrest for 4 nights. Our en suite rooms were clean and welcoming with tea/coffee making facilities and TV. 
A full Breakfast was included which filled us up for the majority of the day! 
The accommodation is in a central position, 3/4 minute walk to restaurants and shops and 20/25 minute walk to the bigger town of Bowness-on-Windermere. Denecrest does not have its own parking, but we usually found a space in nearby roads- 1 or 2 minutes walk away. 
Ian and Christine were very informative and were enthusiastic about the Lake District which they were happy to pass on to guests. 
An enjoyable stay. 

Very good budget accommodation

Just had a very pleasant two night stay at a friendly band b. Rooms were cosy and had everything you need, host were full of information  on local area and did a great breakfast  which you ordered the night before. Parking was not a problem managed to get right outside the property. Town centre was a five minute walk and only 20 minwalk to Bowness also has a good bus service if you don't fancy the walk. We will not hesitate to book here again.Keep up good work

Two day break

I stayed here with three friends over Easter weekend earlier this year, and am sorry my review is so late! I'm truly baffled by all the negative reviews on here... The carpet had been recently replaced when we went to stay, and yes, the bathroom was a little on the small side, but it's a guest house, not a 5 star hotel and I think the prices reflect that and had no complaints there. We stayed in the family room at the top of the house (one double room and two singles) and all slept comfortably. Breakfast was a tasty full English (vegetarian option available if required), and included hot and cold drinks. The dining room was a converted lounge (again, what you'd expect in a guesthouse) and was perfectly clean. What really made this place stand out for us was how welcoming and friendly Ian was. He went out of his way to recommend us things to do in the area, even taking time to draw us a map of a suggested walk he thought we might like to do (we'd asked for something pretty, but not too challenging nearby). He also helped us take our luggage upstairs when we arrived, and chatted to us over breakfast each morning. Thanks Ian, and don't let the haters on here get you down!
