Palácio das Especiarias

This was one of the best hotels that we stayed at. The service was outstanding. Every person that we interacted with during the stay was polite, helpful and professional. The property has that palace charm and each room at the hotel has uniqueness to it. The staircases are gorgeous, furniture is beautiful, it has sitting rooms, dining room, library and much more. We loved the variety of the breakfast items and how clean the property was. There was a live music during the breakfast with piano and violin players, who were wonderful. Please inquire about their spa services that include sauna. It is about 1 hour spot that my daughter and I have tremendously enjoyed on one of the evening. While at the spa, the towels and robes were provided, along with chocolates and sparkly wine for me :). I loved everything about the hotel. However, the room, while charming, was quite tiny. Also, while tea and ability of bigger size cup to brew, there was no cups to accommodate that, so making tea was somewhat of a hassle that required multi-cup manipulation, so I would recommend adding bigger size caps for the tea drinkers inside the rooms. Otherwise, the room was lovely and had a lot of character. Also, while the hotel was scrubbed to the perfection, sometimes it felt a little bit overwhelming to see all the workers in the lobby continuously scrubbing it. It kind of took away from the experience. However, I would come to this lovely hotel again and again, and my 15 yo teen loved it. Thank you!
