Just spent a few days here diving. Everything was great. Rooms are basic but immaculately clean and comfortable and well air conditioned. They are serviced daily. Meals were included and were excellent. Mostly south Asian prepared by a wonderful Bangladeshi chef Shaheen. Rashid and Rakiv rounded out the hotel staff, served meals and drove us around on the golf cart. All speak passable English though definitely not fluent. All were unfailingly friendly and fun to be around. Diving lead by guide Amu was great on a spacious comfortable boat with bathroom and fresh water shower facilities. Really enjoyed everything about the stay. Maamagili is a long way from home and I don’t know if I’ll ever get back, but I’d recommend Shamar Guest House and Dive to anyone going without reservation.
