Hotel Royale

We were there recently in the first week of January 2018, check in was abreeze and Mr Kee at the Reception is a humble chap with excellent customer service, we also found out he served Hotel Royale for a solid 20 years and still being loyal. Off we go to the room located on the first floor, it is spacious with nice queen size bed,good air conditioning, kettle for making hot water with coffee mix for a cuppa or two. Bathroom is huge with good hot or cold shower, being regular travellers all around Malaysia and stayed in varieties of hotels,inns,etc...we are totally comfortable with just soaps as our own toiletries are still keeping us company (for those who complained about this, plan well before travelling and make it a habit to bring your own ) During night and early next morning, there are plenty of good eating places in Alor Setar and no issues about getting hungry or you may opt. for a good discount meals at the adjacent Kenny Rogers Restaurant , we also met another team member at the hotel by the name of Ms Aw , she is also equally humble and with good customer service ethics. All in all, we are both very pleased with our stay and definitely will stay at Hotel Royale Alor Setar again and having said these, we are both equally disagree with all the negative reviews here in Tripadvisor and eventhough indeed it is all merely based on personal opinions but be more rational and have an open heart and mind while staying in such a historical hotel that is also belongs to the first prime minister of Malaysia (The late Tunku Abdul Rahman) which is now managed by his family members and these information are also being clearly briefed by the two dedicated team members at the hotel during our stay there. Keep it up and well done !
