Another fantastic stay love these apartments we return every year and we never do that anywhere else. Family run and what a lovely family they are!
Manos will help you in any way he can to make your stay as enjoyable as possible.
Nick on the bar is a great guy and a real asset to the hotel. 
Pool area is peaceful and relaxing even though its near the main road, rooms are clean and comfortable and decent TV with more than just one news channel. Bus stop outside hotel beach two minutes away and gyro place across the road. Perfect. Note hotel has changed name for 2023 now called Edem studios.

We have just come back from 2 weeks here and we had the best holiday ever.

Manos, Nickos and the team can't do enough for you. The apartments are clean and tidy and the bed was lovely and comfy. The setting is lovely and relaxing and from the minute we got there you were made to  feel welcome.

The BBQ night is a must we did it both times, great food, great laughs and Greek dancing. We didn't do a lot of travelling around the island as we just wanted to chill out and we certainly did this.

Manos arranged for us to go to the Olive Tree which is in the hills, you get picked up and bought back and the food and the views were breath taking 

The 2 dogs there are so good and are nor a problem at all. At the night time it is usually spent around the bar just chilling and making new friends.

I can understand why people return to these apartments and we will definitely be back.

We’ve had a wonderful weeks holiday at Maria Yiannis and enjoyed the warm welcome from Manos and team (plus the dogs Arya and Belo).  The team go above and beyond, and look like they are genuinely enjoying themselves too. 

We stayed here 12 years ago and the place has been steadily improved over that time - there’s an improved bar area and a new seating area for food and drinks. The complex is kept spotless, both around the pool and in the apartments. There is a fun greek night on Thursdays

My kids loved the pool which is a good size. There is a baby pool too (also nice for adults to splash in!) 

Location is great for Troulos beach, the local
Supermarket and Gyros bar - plus bus stop 20. Taxis have been stopping regularly if the bus is having one of its more haphazard days….Troulos beach has good tavernas and a water sports area. And you can spot terrapins in the small pond bit next to the water sports. 

We’ve enjoyed food locally at Nectar and Ambrosia, Salt and Pepper and Troulos Bay hotel. In fact most food in Troulos is of a good standard,  Totem bar is a fun later night addition to the area, and they were good with kids too 

We come back to Skiathos because of the beauty and the wonderful friendly hosting - and this is definitely present at Maria Yiannis

Visited with my 20 year old daughter for a 4 night break away.  First time to Skiathos and fell in love with the island.  The accommodation was in a great location.  On the main road but shielded by trees.  It also meant we could spot the bus heading along the coast so we knew roughly how long it would take so we could leave for the bus stop which was a couple of minutes walk away.  The road wasn't busy (but I recognise this may be different in high season).
We booked a studio, for 2-4 people.  We were thrilled that it had 2 floors so my daughter had a bedroom upstairs and a toilet and slept in the large downstairs room which had twin beds, kitchen area and shower room...and lots of floor space.  The balcony was roomy and looked over the pool and bar area.  It was a few minutes walk to a well stocked supermarket and a few minutes further to the beach.
We didn't eat in the apartment restaurant but others did.  We used to end the night in the bar, playing backgammon.  It was pretty quiet but I'm guessing that was due to low season.
The weather was fantastic, beautiful sunny days.  The temperature dropped in the evening and we hadn't packed for that...but it was fine.  The cooler temperature meant it was easy to sleep and no air-con needed.
We took a boat trip around the island and had lunch on mainland Greece.  It was one of the best boat trips I've taken (booked through TUI but you can book at Skiathos harbour).  The beaches were stunning and the trip seemed to be done at a good pace (enough time at places but not too long).  We went to Skiathos town twice, once in the daytime and once at night.  It's a lovely place to visit, wander around and grab something to eat.  The buses were less frequent, as it was low season and we did have one evening where one of the buses (out of 2) were out of action.  We had decided to head to Ag Eleni beach to see the sunset and luckily a taxi driver stopped and picked us up from the bus stop.  We did the same when heading one day to Koukounaires beach as the bus didn't show, but a taxi came past and stopped.
Troulos beach itself is stunning but it was so lovely to visit other areas along the coast.  Ag Eleni, as mentioned above, was magical at sunset...the sea just glowed.  There were very few people there but I think that changes in high summer.
All the restaurants we ate in were fantastic.  On the first night we ate in a taverna on the beach (the first one in the row - I can't remember the name).  We thought it was going to be basic however, the food was fantastic - we put together a meze.  When the bill came I couldn't believe how cheap it was for the quality we ate (a kebab skewer which came with a few chips and salad - 2 Euro).  However, although other restaurants were slightly more expensive they were all good quality.  We ate at Captain Nikos Appaloosa and Green Meadow in Troulos and lots of other Tavernas in other areas.
In summary, great apartment in a fantastic quiet resort, with lots of beaches and areas to visit.  We will be back!

Another fantastic stay at Maria Yiannis love this hotel for lots of reasons including location and the comfortable rooms but the main reason we came back after first staying last year is the genuinely caring and friendly people that run and work at this hotel. 
Manos is such a nice guy always smiling and always has time for a chat. Special mention to Nick at the pool bar such a genuine lovely guy. Met some great people this year and had some good laughs. Thank you for a great holiday and we will see you next year.

Just returned from a week at Maria Yannis apartments with our two teenagers. The studio was spacious, with a large upper level accessed via a spiral staircase, with a separate toilet. The kitchen was well equipped with two rings and a small oven/grill. 

Nice pool downstairs with a bar beside it, plus a short walk to the beach, bus stop and mini market.

Manos was friendly and helpful at all times - we hope he enjoyed celebrating his birthday on the day we left.

Could happily have stayed longer

Maria Yannis is a quiet self catering apartments 5 minutes walk from Troulos beach. Having had other options cancelled it was great to get away. The bus from the Airport drops off just a short walk in a pleasant setting. 
Maria Yannis like most Greek Hotels have amazing friendly Staff Dimitri and Christos the Bar Staff and Owners son are on the ball. Cocktails are amazing and prices very reasonable. It is a short walk to numerous Restaurants and other bars, shops and Restaurants. I felt they did everything possible but it was very quiet because of Covid.
Look forward to visiting May/June next year fingers crossed. Because of Covid dont be presumptious about sheets towels etc. Ask and you will get what you want everytime.
If you need Taxi's, Car Hire, Quads and dont want to organise it yourself Christos will arrange everything. Rooms basic but very clean and large value for money. One of the best.

Stayed in Troulos before but first time at Maria yiannis. 
Bigger than average studio with the most comfortable beds I've ever had in Greece. Room equipped with kettle and small hob and decent size fridge.
Manos who runs the hotel is a lovely chap along with his adorable dog Aria,  Manos will do anything for you so helpful and friendly when he's not at the hotel you'll find him working at the nearby shop.
Great location near gyro place and shop on the way down to Troulos beach which is beautiful. Troulos tavena on the beach is our favourite, Beach 5 minutes away. 5-10 minutes walk from other restaurants and couple of bars.
Bus stop 20 right outside hotel.
I really liked our stay at Maria yiannis,  had a lovely feel to the place and will hopefully return next year on our annual holiday to Skiathos.

This was not our first time here and the fact that we still go back some years is testament to how good it is.  Perfect location just across the road from the great sandy beach and within easy walking distance of tavernas.  The apartments are basic but clean and there is a well stocked bar run by charming Manos,   We booked last minute to see what the situation was with COVID and so glad we did.  We had a fantastic time!

We stayed here for one week , it's a great location, lovely and clean , beautiful gardens , and Manos is so friendly and helpful , I would highly recommend this place , the beech is close by and the bus stops right outside also outside is a fantastic giros shop , ,,, not to be missed ! We would definitely go Back

Perfect yet again 

Our second time in these apartments and the owners are just as welcoming as before. 
We were given a two story room overlooking the pool. Lucky really as I had a fall and it meant that I could at least sit on my balcony and people watch for the two days I could really walk. 
Manos was great and managed to find me a crutch so I could get around a bit otherwise I think our holiday would have be ruined. 
We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again if we come back to Troulos again in a few years time .

Absolutely Amazing

We have just returned from a week at these apartments.

Maria Yiannis is in an excellent position adjacent to a bus stop and supermarket and only a few minutes walk down to the beautiful Troulos beach.

We loved the large swimming pool and the fact that there is no need to "book" sunbeds and umbrellas---there's always plenty to choose from. The grounds are beautiful and very well kept by the friendly owner Manos and his team.

We had a studio apartment on the top floor of a block overlooking the pool. It was very well stocked with kitchen equipment to enable self catering but we chose to eat out at the excellent restaurants withing easy walk of the apartments.

The beds were comfortable and everything was very clean and well maintained.

We liked all the local restaurants--our favourite was the Troulos Bay Hotel situated on the beach--even though it was a reasonably upmarket hotel the restaurant was the most reasonably priced of them all. Highly recommended.

The reason we haven't given it 5 stars is mainly to do with the water pressure---in the mornings we had to flush the toilet with bowls of water--the cistern wouldn't fill up. Another niggling issue was the fact that there was a very good flat screen TV but there was no English speaking channels at all---a bit strange given that almost all the guests were from the UK.

Friendly staff, and real care given to give guests a perfect holiday. Spotless too.

Fantastic short break

Just back from a week in Skiathos in the lovely Maria Yiannis apartments. first time to skiathos but most definitely not the last. The apartments are clean and airy and Manos, Niko, Joanna and the rest of the family are so friendly and helpful - also a special shout out to Aria and Belo, the lovely family dogs.  Everyone we met, locals and tourists were so friendly, no one passed without smiling or greeting each other - absolutely lovely atmosphere everywhere we went. 
Apartments are ideally placed about a 3 minute walk to Troulos beach and restaurants and bars all within walking distance for evening meals/drinks.  Bus stop to skiathos town also just outside apartments  
Troulos is not a ‘resort’ as such, no main strip or rows of bars/shops but everything you need is there just spread out a bit.  Paralia restaurant on the beach was our go to for lunch each day -  excellent food and reasonably priced. 
If you’re looking for clean apartments with a great pool and near to the beach with excellent hosts I don’t think you could find better.

Maria Yiannis

This was our first time at Maria yiannis. We loved it! It is typical self catering in Greece, don’t expect anything else, but that’s why you book self catering rather than all inclusive. 

Our room was big even with a small oven (unused by us). The water pressure is hilarious but the shower was always hot. Towels and sheets changed as you would expect. 

The greatest thing for us, as pool people, was that there was none of the stupidity about towels on beds and there were free beds every day. There is a very chilled atmosphere during the day. It appears to attract people who just want to chill and have a nice time. Consequently we met some people that we had a laugh with. 

The location is spot on with the best Gyros in the place opposite. 100% we would stay again
