Brattle Hospedaje

The hostel is located near the peer. It has simple but clean rooms. They are a bit smelly since it is hard to air the rooms. 
The shower has (real) hot water.
A cleaning lady is coming everyday and also changes the towels daily.
The kitchen is big, but not too well equipped.
There is free drinking water.
The internet is only good near the reception.
Considering the price, it is a very good place to stay.

We walked around town to compare many places as we were on tight budget.
The owner here offered us private room with bathroom for $25 after dinner bargaining, so we took it. It's the cheapest we could find. I would not pay anymore for this place. 

Good location and very friendly staff. The owner Fernando is nice and so is the night staff. The shower was hot or warm each time with good pressure. And large space. Rooms were clean. Loved that towels were provided!  

The kitchen really needs a good clean and some organisation.  Would be great if they could provide oil for cooking. 

Walls are thin so I got woken up allot by other travelers coming back at 3am drunk, or talking in the hallway at 6am. 

WiFi was very weak. I think this applies to whole island but not sure. 

We stayed there 2 nights. We booked a room with 2 beds and got a super large 3 beds room instead for the same price (30$/night).

The shower was huge, with hot water, soap and shampoo (towels included).

The bedroom was a bit smelly but clean.

The hostel is very central and is located next to the harbour. 

For those who are into wifi , the one at Brattle doesn't work at all... (well, on the galapagos islands the wifi is terrible anyway!)

Good combo for one - two nights. 

(Go to San Cristóbal Island for the best service and ambiance than Puerto ayora)

Cheap place to stay, near the peer, with kitchen and free drinking water

Overall good stay

Great price for a OK place 

We were looking for something cheap in Puerto Ayora and this seemed to be the only place we could find. Room was hot (fan, no aircon) and there was a bad smell coming from the bathroom. Toilet flush didn't work properly. Lock to the door broke but was replaced immediately. Internet did work only at the entrance (not in kitchen or room) and was very slow (although I admit it is slow everywhere on the islands). Owners were not very friendly or welcoming. Location is good. Room is cleaned daily. Luckily we found something better for the same price later.

Stayed here coz it was cheap

Stayed one night in Brattle, beacuse we were looking for a budget accomodation. The owner was rather friendly, otherwise we would have given only one star. 
The room was dark, with bad air and very hot. There was an extremely noisy fan and an Aircon, but when we asked for the remote control, the owner told us, with the use of the Aircon, it would be 10$ more. For one night! For this price we could have found a nice, clean accomodation with a/c inclusive!
The "private" bathroom was outside the room and apparently hadn't been cleaned before our arrival or in the last week. It was disgusting.

Dirty, Noisy, Hot

We arrived to Santa Cruz from Izabella and we were looking for an economic place to stay. After checking some hostels we arrived to Brattle hospedaje.

Since we were staying for 4 nights we got a room for around 27 USD per night (instead of 30).

It was actually a suit, awhole floor only for us. A room with a big living room, kitchen, bedroom and private bathroom. Of course we didn't think twice. 

When we entered the room we felt there is a weird smell. We assumed some ventilation will make it away. 

I started exploring the place. I opened the fridge where I found a rotten food!

I started notice that the place is not really clean, it seemed like no one was in the room for a long time. 

After exploring more I also found the source of the smell - a gas leak! from the kitchen.

We decided to stay for the night and see the next day if to look for other place or maybe other room at the same place. 

At the night we also got a visit from the hostel's cat! Obviously we had to keep the window open because of the gas leak.

The next day we told the owner about all the things, she refused to accept there is a gas leak. We decided to pay for the night (30 USD) and to look for another place.

I wouldn't recommend this place!
