Characteristic old hotel in the very old town of Ribe. It felt like we went back in time. The shared bathroom for 3 rooms worked fine. Loved the slanted floors.  Owner is friendly and fun.  The breakfast was good and filling. We loved the whole experience. Free car parking outside the old town was great.

The place was very cute and cozy, the owner gave us a great tip for a tour and some tips about where stuff was and when things were open. They rearranged the breakfast for us as we don’t eat meat. Would have been nice if that was an option we could have shared in advance and not been teased about. But in the end we had a really relaxed and restful stay and the building itself is really cool. Felt as if we had travelled back in time, except that there was a very clean bathroom ;) ( v.modern) Highly recommend!

Very nice little place. Friendly and helpful staff. Good breakfast. Lovely courtyard. Comfortable bed but small. Right on the walking street. Close to shopping and restaurants. Ribe is a very hyggelig little town.

Everyone was so friendly & helpful, and they spoke English. Jens helped us old people get the luggage up the stairs & gave helpful tips & directions. The hotel itself was old and quaint, just as it should be for the oldest town in Denmark. Step outside the hotel door, and we were on the village’s main pedestrian walkway. The whole experience was a wonderful step back in time for us.

This is a very old property with rooms just off a lovely garden.  Staff were very amiable.   Perfect location from which to explore Ribe.

We had a fantastic time in Ribe. The service is very friendly and they serve a great breakfast. Our room was neat and clean. All in all, we can highly recommend this hotel.

Romatic and lovely located on the edge of the town center

We had a nice stay of one night. Jens was a lovely host and recommended us some things to see in Ribe. The breakfast was very good and the rooms clean.

The room was very basic but what can you expect from a house that was build in 1668,so for us it was ok.The personnel was very helpful and friendly and the house was located in the center of the village.our car was parked 300 m away(for free) so that was also no issue for us.Anyway it was a very nice experience to stay in this very cosy hotel from 1668

The location is excellent and it is pretty great knowing you are sleeping in this super old building. It’s a very basic room, but plenty comfortable. There are snacks and drinks in the room available for purchase, which is good, as this is a sleepy town with not much available in the evenings (at least during the off season). The breakfast was fabulous and the host was wonderful.
One tip, if you are arriving after 6, make sure that you have made arrangements with the host. Especially if you do not have cell service to call.

Very Good Stay

There seems to be no better way to see Denmark's oldest city than by staying in one of its oldest inns!  Jens is a great host and the breakfasts provided are suitable to keep you going for a whole day.  We had rooms with shared bathrooms and that worked great during our three day stay. The rooms are charming -- we embraced the shorter ceilings, post and beams, and slanted floors when we made the reservations and were definitely not disappointed.  There is a small shared sitting area upstairs if you want to gather.   In terms of location, Hotel Postgaarden is central to exploring all of Ribe and while it is on one of the main streets in the center of town, it is not at all noisy.  Most of the stores close up shop by 5pm and many of the local restaurants are down the street a bit.  So very quiet in the evening.

In the Middle of History -- and Sleeping In It

I loved staying at Postgaarden! The host Jens made me feel welcome at once and was very helpful. The B&B is located right in the town centre and about 5-10 min from the train station. The room was just charming and the breakfast excellent. The bathroom was shared but as I was the only one staying at this part of the building I had it all for myself. I would definitely stay at Postgaarden again if back in Ribe!

Perfect

This wonderful house is situated directly in the city centre. We stayed here for 3 nights for very good price. I love this place! Wooden narrow house from 1668. You can feel the history here! Amazing! Kind staff, nice restaurant, very good breakfast with delicious coffee. During whole day you can make coffee or tea. Shared shower cleaned and near of the rooms. Ribe is a beautiful city which I recommend to visit and stay in PostGaarden BB too! Thank you :)

Historical feelings

I spent two nights at Postgaarden. I arrived late, but Jens was around and showed me the room on the first floor. It had a canopy bed, a small TV, a table and two chairs. The bed is comfortable. 

Since it is an old house, roofs are quite low, but the atmosphere is great. The bathroom is on the same floor.
