A few bus-stops away from Suzhou Train station and 5 minutes' walk to a quaint old street "Qi Li Shan Tang" (7-mile Shan Tang Street) which is just beside a canal. Room is fairly cosy and well-furnished. The more expensive rooms look out into a small typical Suzhou style garden which is within the hotel premises. Very convenient location, generally friendly front desk staff, prompt housekeeping service, comfortable bed and clean shower room. Rate is reasonable (slightly below 200 RMB for a small double room) given that everything works fine. My only complaint is the poor sound-proofing. I could hear guests' banter along the corridor and in the rooms next to mine. So if you're unlucky and end up with noisy, inconsiderate guests next door, you'll end up being rudely woken up by their loud chatter and door slaming.
