My girlfriend and I stayed at the Mekong floating house for two nights in December during our trip in South Vietnam. The place consists of 5 bamboo houses with bedroom, bathroom, shower and terrace, away from the chaotic traffic and the noise of the city of My Tho. You'll need a boat to take you from My Tho's pier and the transfer takes just about 15 minutes. As some other reviews say, there are not many comforts or things to do there but that's exactly the concept behind a place so peaceful and secluded. The host is great and can help you arrange trips on the main land as well as give you good advice on your itinerary. We suggest you ask for a motorbike trip to Tra Vihn: the scenery is wonderful and you won't meet other tourists along the road. The host is also so kind he would bargain the price for you when booking boats or trips and you pay directly to him thus reducing the chances of a rip off. Breakfast and dinner are served on the terrace: the food is very good and plenty while the sunset on the River gives you the best background you could ask for. The landscape is stunning and if you go for a walk on the island you'll have the chance to see real life. The price is a bit higher when compared to other accommodations but it's totally worth it and we both agree we would definitely recommend it to everyone!
