The Westin Jekyll Island Beach Resort

Pleasantly surprised how much my hubby and I enjoyed this property that we stopped for a quick overnight stay enroute to Hilton Head. Loved our upgraded Beachfront room (platinum status) that was awarded the day before by Anna (who deserves an award just for her personality and enthusiasm for Jekyll Island). Kyle was also great lugging up our numerous bags and always greeting us. Upgrades make the whole place look brand new. Beach was perfect for long walks. Bikes and trails were a huge plus. Stayed 3rd Sat. in August and found the whole experience one we'd repeat. Resort fee was easy to swallow which included parking, bikes, and beach chairs with umbrellas. Food was off the charts. Decided after a wonderful redfish sandwiche, salad, smash burger, fries, and drinks at the poolside "bar"... we'd repeat dinner and breakfast at Willet's. Dinner was wonderful with a low-country boil, wine, and shrimp scampy. Breakfast (included an entree from the menu due to our status) included a wonderful eggs-benedict that had legite country ham and fried green tomatoes. Coffee choices could have been better and tea was not offered because there was no way of keeping hot water hot...lost tops? fyi...Couches are not comfy...use chairs! Only caveat we found for a longer stay is "things to do" might be limited. Pickleball? Don't want to drive to another island but not finding anything on Jekyll. yet.
