Grosvenor House Hotel

Just stayed at the grosvenor Skegness and had a great time, the entertainment was so good it couldn’t have been better. Rooms were clean and tidy and staff very accommodating. A good variety of food and catered well to my food allergies. Will definitely be staying there again as staff were helpful and friendly. A great atmosphere.

Staff very helpful

After reading other reviews we were sceptical!! However ..... the room was clean,(apart from the lightshade!)  the bed very comfy ... the curtains were literally in tatters however - we were room 208 - (the bay window on the corner in the photo)  - we were there for a wedding and can't fault the staff, the buffet food or the breakfast! We had a great time :) 

Better than we Expected!

August Bank Holiday weekend, we had been paying around £5 to £8 for our round of 2 drinks in the pubs in Skegness, here same round £14, also some strange drunk bloke stood at the bar hoping for a reaction to his comments, think he was looking for a fight, I love a fight & would of happily had kicked his head in, but not when I’m out with the missis

I really wanted to stay here for a birthday treat. So we went to skegness twice to book it. Finally we spoke to the boss, Russ who told us he would sort it. We would receive an email in a couple of days, 5 days later, no email. So we rang again, he said a new booking system is now being installed so you will get an email shortly, but still no email. So the day before we went, we phoned him again. Yes I am sure you are booked in but I will double check. Then he told us, sorry we are fully booked, but I will try and sort something and ring you back!!! That was the last we heard!!! So make sure you ring before you leave. But all ended well, we stayed in a lovely place just down that road.

Nightmare Booking!!!

This hotel is vile ,it's dirty ,stinks of fags ,very dark down corridors,sticky carpets , mattresses must of been very well used ,just pure springs .One very flat pillow ,no headboard ,shower rusty ,cobwebs all over bathroom ,shower curtain filthy.Couldnt wait to leave .Don't be fooled by the glossy photos as I can assure you ,you will be disappointed!!!Needs closing down it is grim

Booked the hotel as a late choice and didn’t expect too much after reading the reviews, when we arrived it looked tired from the outside.
Once in it looked even more run down and had the air of a DSS hostel.
Our room was small and although appeared to have been cleaned was still a bit grubby. Even worse was the toilet, dried on skid marks down the length of the pot and what looked like a stained and grubby 1980’s office chair next to the shower.
The mattress and pillows were so worn out and tired we got hardly any sleep.
We tried to check out the next morning (a day early as we couldn’t stand it any more) but there was nobody around at 7.45.
Never ever would I recommend this place!!

Worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in!!

What an absolute dump Hotel was clearly refurbished for Queen Victoria's Coronation.  It's a discusting doss house trading as a hotel and needs closing down immediately.  Even the rough sleepers wouldnt want to reside here.  
The rooms are deplorable peeling wallpaper and paint, chips in shower tray and floor tiles.  2 curtains stitched together with the hem coming down.  Nails sticking out of bed.  Just avoid this hotel like the plague youll be better in a shop doorway.
Now for the cleanliness erm well its not clean its loppy. Dont think its been hovered in about 30 years.
The breakfast is inedible loud intolerable music all day. 
So thats my review of your doss house.  TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE.  May I suggest you revamp the hotel and try and bring it up to a 1 star at least that would be a start

We were lulled into a false sense of security on the first evening as the meal was lovely but when we got up Monday morning there was no bread, milk, cereal or orange juice available until staff went to the shop to get some. Breakfast was ok for the rest of the week but the evening meal left a lot to be desired. We had a nice big room but very few electrical sockets that were all down one side of the room. The curtains were falling off the window. The shower curtain was disgusting. Mirror was cracked and bathroom mirror was hanging off the wall. Did not stay for the entertainment because the general public were allowed in the room and the doors left open so was rather cold.

Should be called faulty towers!

Unfortunately, the premier inn was fully booked, so Hobson’s choice meant booking a stay for two nights here. Arrived to find a gazebo outside the main entrance, with music and entertainment. Unfortunately this was so loud, it was deafening to try and walk passed it. The reception is a desk in the main bar area, and we were informed the ‘entertainment’ would cease at midnight. 
We placed our things in the room, which was like a £3 a night hostel.. (sorry to be derogatory to hostels, by including them in the same sentence as this place). 
Big hole in wall, wood chip paper, cracks in ceiling, paintwork, and decor from 1973. 
The shower didn’t work properly, and my partner found a previous visitors mouldy earring in the shower too.
We have stayed in numerous places, but none as grim as this . 
We spent the evening away from the hotel, waiting for midnight, when the din would cease. 
The room had no air con, so on a stifling night, we couldn’t leave the windows open because of extraneous noise too. 
We got up the following morning, and had a lovely breakfast... across the road at the Premier inn.. (by this time we’d seen reviews on trip advisor, including that of the poor service and cold food in the hotel we were staying at). 
I decided to ask the receptionist if there was more ‘entertainment ‘ scheduled for our second night. 
I also mentioned the noise being ridiculously loud. The receptionist apologised, saying it was a last minute thing the owner decided to do. She knew herself how loud it was, because, as she said, she lived 4 streets away, and could hear it !! 
We felt so sorry for everyone else in adjacent hotels, having to put up with it, especially those with young children, who needed bedtimes earlier than midnight. 
The receptionist said she would pass on my comments, but there was no offer beyond that. 
The other entertainment booked, was, booked in the hall on the first floor.. (our room was on the second floor). I was assured that the party, which was planned for all day, would finish at 10 pm, but because of the soundproofing in the floor, it would be much better than that of the previous evening. 
We spent some of the day on the front of Skegness, and decided to go back, mid-afternoon, to see how noisy it was in our room. 
I can honestly say, the bathroom floor was shaking, with the thumping music coming from below. Please believe, we were not wanting that party to be spoilt, but it was impossible to stay in the room we’d paid for. 
We decided to leave for home, knowing we wouldn’t get a refund for the second night, but at least we’d be more comfortable. 
We lost money, left the hotel early, and will never go there again. 
I’d be mindful to even stay anywhere within a mile of that place, unless you have a guarantee of good soundproofing! 
I have video and pictures of the place, for anyone wishing to see, but all I can say is that for the money they charge, you could get a much much better place to stay. 
Grim, poorly decorated, poorly maintained, and loud to the point of causing actual damage to your hearing, I’ll echo the sentiments of other reviewers.. AVOID, AVOID, AVOID!!

The place was disgusting,when we arrived a member of staff was sat stuffing her face,no greeting,ordered our meal ,they didn't have the chicken and mushroom pie,so changed it to filled Yorkshire pudding,veg cold,could not eat roast potatoes to hard and cold,I ordered steak chips and peas,well everything was cold,could not even cut the steak,place was filthy when we had proper look,staff couldn't care less,would rather starve than go there again.
