Stamford Farmhouse

Let me start by saying what great value for money this place is! We've paid a lot more in the past and had a lot less of a warm stay. We only dealt with Simon and from the moment we landed he was very helpful. Little things like making sure we had fresh milk for the morning to advising us about the area and what to see and visit. You could tell he loved where he lived and really enjoyed having people stay in his house! And to have port available as a night cap was a lovely country touch I thought! The rooms were lovely and as expected for a farmhouse, very clean, very tidy and felt like home!! My fiancées family have guest houses so she knows what to look out for and it certainly pasted her methodical ability to spot dirtiness. Not that we were looking for muck but we were glad it was clean :-) As for the breakfasts, I don't know what it is but so many people get it wrong. But Simon certainly didn't, the menu is great and both mornings the things we ordered were executed perfectly and set us up nicely for the day! He managed to make the simplest ingredients work and taste great. All in all we had a fantastic trip and staying here was certainly one of the catalysts. Thanks for your hospitality
