We have stayed afew times before so knew what to expect. We stayed last night and think its good value. We paid £55 for a single room and £110 for a twin so £55 each with breakfast I think is cracking value. Some ppl might say it needs updating but I dont think it needs the expense it certainly serves its purpose. It's quite in keeping with the older style. It was clean and the staff friendly. The breakfast was superb really enjoyed it. If your looking for no frills value for money accommodation I will always recommend the fountain. There are other more expensive places to stay in hawes if you so wish. Theres no need to stay here paying less then slate it on tripadvisor. Will stay again no doubt. The battered haggis and cheese from the chip shop is an absolute MUST! Amazing
