The Railway Inn

Having decided to meet some friends for a meal at the Railway Inn in froghall, I made a booking enquiry and had good communication throughout as the numbers altered nearing the event. Upon entering the building we were pleasantly greeted and made welcome with a detailed description of the pies, chips, chicken meals etc as he was serving the quality very reasonably priced drinks. The table had already been laid out for us and here the only slight error was that for some the forks and knives were a different side to others, no detriment to our visit but an easy one to sort. Between us we ordered pies, and burgers with the home cut and cooked chips and one had mushy peas and I had the garden peas (I like peas but these weren't the best and would have preferred a petit pois sweeter type) The pies were made with a lovely pastry and filled to the brim with quality meat. The accompanying gravy was in a individual jug and was ample for what was required, it was a good consistency and full of flavour. The chips were very good ! Those who had the buffalo meat burgers were equally impressed and everyone was of the opinion that it was a great menu and quality of meal as pub food, and all the plates went back completely cleared leaving one tomatoe slice and a few peas. It is a place all of us had passed before but none had eaten in, I think it will rate as one of the best bar meal experiences I have ever had and it will now be a serious consideration whenever meeting with friends or family and I would and will recommend to anyone looking to eat in a ten mile radius as I know they won't be disappointed.
