Zara Beach Resort Koh Samui

Second visit to this hotel and whilst a few changes have been made it was still a wonderful experience. We had Villa 4 this time (can’t remember which we had last time) but both were spacious, pool was cleaned at least once a day, room cleaned daily by a lovely team, bed was comfortable, air condition lovely and cold. Cannot fault at all. The hotel bar has gone one a health kick since my last visit, the menu has lots of protein shakes and healthy meal options. The food I ordered was nice, well presented and very reasonable. Cocktails are a little limited but the ones I tried were good and the staff very helpful and there are no shortage of bars in the area. Highly recommend Zii Zii’s towards the main road. The hotel is in a fabulous location for not only the beach but restaurants, bars, shops, and the night market. The stand out difference for me this time were the staff. Whilst I couldn’t fault them last time I cannot speak highly enough of Elaine, the hotel manger. She’s simply incredible, and a total asset to the resort. Always smiling, beyond helpful, literally nothing was too much trouble, kind, knowledgable and all round wonderful lady. It was lovely to see her ‘boss’ around the resort regularly too. He was also super friendly, helpful and always had time for a chat and check that our stay was going well. Was lovely to see his appreciation of Elaine and the other staff too. It gave the resort a nice atmosphere. Please don’t be put off by the not so kind reviews, and remember that this, according to Booking.com is a 3* resort and is priced accordingly. Personally I think this is one of the few times that you categorically do not get what you pay for. 100% will be rebooking.
