Twyfelfontein Country Lodge

The scenery and setting of the hotel is absolutely stunning and truly unique. I have never seen so many stars in the sky. Dinner and breakfast buffets were good. There are some petroglyphs on site that you can see.

There is a small pool.  There is no gym but you can run/walk around the hotel.

The location is breathtaking, the rooms and the common spaces are clean, with a classy furniture. We liked the buffets for breakfast and  dinner for the variety of food. The staff was very kind and we had a beautiful day with Stanley for the elepahnt drive, petroglyphs, organ pipes and Damara living museum.

All around excellent stay! Beautiful rooms, clean, great views. Food was excellent as was staff!

This location is a gem. The buildings are well built and although the rooms are not very big they have two 2x1 metre beds with mosquito nets over them, a nice bathroom with a good shower and airconditioning (works only when you are in the room). Courtesy beauty products (first time I saw that during our tour.

The rooms/chalets on the valley side have a stunning view over the valley, as does the restaurant.

We took the afternoon elephant drive which turned into a sundowner. It can be a long drive depending on where the elephants are, but is found it is very rewarding. Warm clothing required.

The staff are very friendly overall. The meals are in buffet-form and there are many options to choose from. Vegetarians are limited to pasta or rice with vegetables. Birds also enjoy the buffet.

There is a fuel station at about 2 kms which accepts cash only.

We very much enjoyed our night at the Country Lodge.  The rooms were comfortable with AC and nice showers. However, the surroundings were phenomenal - swimming pool was beautiful. The food was good as well!  Thank you!

We stayed at the lodge for 2 nights. We had a really nice stay, the location and rooms were beautiful, and we also ate very well in the lodge restaurant. The staff were professional and helpful, especially Norman who was one of the best people we met on our trip. We also took part in the excursion organised by the lodge to see the desert elephants and were not disappointed! We hope that we will have the opportunity to come back one day.

The journey from the coast via Uis makes this a destination to celebrate arriving at. Dramatic landscape surrounds the lodge about 10km off newly tarred stretch of road. The bar and restaurant area give fantastic views of the valley and the rock strewn landscape in which the hotel is set. Rooms facing the valley are simple but have good air con and are very comfortable. Internet is only available in the bar and restaurant area and has to be purchased. Perhaps this is the only very small criticism one could have but the friendliness of the welcome, quality of food at dinner and breakfast and the unique location make this a wonderful stop to explore Damaraland .

Our stay at Twyfelfontein country lodge was surely the overall favorite of our whole trip.
First impressions upon arriving was the well designed aestetics, with the lodge blending into the mountain rocks. 
Mealtimes offered a substantial variety of flavours and choices and the quality of the presentation and meals could not be faulted.
The staff were always friendly and ready to help when needed 
We found the rooms to be cozy, crispy clean and already a lovely cool temperature as we entered. 
The extra attention to detail with the hanging chairs placed strategically around the lodge provided quaint photo opportunities. We loved the pool! The way it was designed with the natural rock feature and always with the sight and song of gorgeous birds.
For a lodge so far removed from everything else our stay was much needed refreshing and relaxing experience and we will surely choose this lodge for accommodation should we travel here again.

Beautiful view, friendly staff, food was delicious. Only thing "bad" we experienced was that the shower would go cold, so was a struggle to have a hot shower.
The walk to the rooms is far but adds to the tranquility and beauty.

Beautifully located, main building 'disappears' in the surrounding rocky hill. Friendly staff, very nice restaurant, with a beautiful view on Damara landscape. Diner is a buffet, many choices, food is good and tasty. Breakfast in English style, also buffet.
Rooms are great, beds sleep lovely. Great shower/bathroom facilities. I read that some reviews wrote that lodges were outdated, but ours and those of our companions were all the same and of high quality.

Beautiful lodge and views

Breathtaking location

Location is great, rooms are nice, although our bed was very small and hard. The Restaurant has an amazing view, lunch was good. We didn't like the dinner buffet very much (2 nights) Very nice pool area and the dry river drive with Reinholt was amazing! We saw a lot of elephants and we watched the sun go down enjoying a drink and some snacks.

Exceptional view and service

First impressions of Twyfelfontein Country Lodge are impressive. Entering the lodge is like walking onto the set of a Bond villain’s lair! The lodge is situated against a rock face, nestled amongst huge boulders and rocks. Walkways take you to your clean, comfortable and tastefully furnished room. The bar area offers incredible views of the landscape and has a very exclusive atmosphere. The dining room has equally stunning views but it is very big and busy, with self-service buffet, which involves queuing. This definitely felt a little less exclusive and detracted from the whole experience. My only other complaint is that WiFi is not free and costs roughly €7 for 1GB per person. I realise that the lodge probably relies on expensive satellite internet but I just don’t think it is acceptable to charge for WiFi these days, particularly in such a seemingly upmarket lodge.

Excellence in a natural setting

Amazing location, decent accommodation, love common spaces, tasty food and  gracious staff sum up the place. Was a bit apprehensive about the place after reading some reviews.  But glad I chose the lodge .  Buffets were very lavish and staff so obliging. Rooms are not too spacious but good with a small sit out as well . 
The Elephant Safari was around NAD 800/ person  I think , and well worth the price. We saw a whole heard of 14 elephants and the driver patiently drove us and gave us the best sighting experience. Would surely recommend when in the area
