The island is lovely and the staff make it such a pleasurable experience. Aziz was our room attendant for room 109 and always made sure our room was cleaned and always checked with us that we were happy with everything. He is a great ambassador for Helengeli. In the restaurant there was always a good choice and the hot food selection was just that - hot (not lukewarm) and the chefs and restaurant staff always ask if everything is ok with the food and if you require anything else. The specialty restaurants - Just Grill and Raga Route (Indian) were excellent too with attentive staff, taking the time to explain all the dishes. Sea shoes are definitely needed for getting in and out of the water as there are lots of stones and pebbles at the edge of the water and also in the water there are rocks. This was a bit of a disappointment for us as we have been to one other island in the Maldives where it was a sandy entrance into the water and this is what we expected at Helengeli but it is the beauty of the island and how it is made up so cannot be changed and nor should it. In Raa Bandhi bar - the amazing staff soon , learned your drinks and special thanks go to each and every one of them. It’s all the staff that make Helengeli what it is, they are all a credit to the Island and seem so happy. Thank you all for a wonderful holiday experience.
