B&B Viavai

Although this is listed as a b&b we rented the whole house as a family for two weeks in August and loved every minute of it. The property is part of a terrace with the owners house next at the end, the large garden wraps around both properties with the pool in the garden. Our host, Annarita lives next door with her family who couldn't have been more welcoming or friendly while being very respectful of our privacy. The house is lovely, everywhere felt spotlessly clean and well maintained, all the bedrooms had their own ensuite bathrooms with two bedrooms on the first floor and the third on the ground floor. The two upstairs rooms had airconditioning, the room downstairs was a lot cooler so did not have AC but did have a fan, also there was a door between this room and the main living area so even downstairs had a degree of privacy. Although we were left alone during our stay Annarita did provide us with a change of linen and towels and was always on hand and incredibly helpful if we had any problems. The kitchen is equipped with most things, I did a lot of cooking during the holiday without too much hassle. There was a tv with local channels and a dvd player and a video player but our children were just interested in the free WIFI! The pool was the cleanest I think we have ever been in thanks to Annarita cleaning it every morning with her special pool vacuum and my son became a dab hand at using the net provided to fish out the insects that landed during the day. The view from the pool was outstanding down the valley and while enjoying the coolness of the pool and the view you can regularly hear the bells from the nearby churches and monastary - Beautiful !! We ate out a couple of times in the local Pizza restaurant and found it very reasonable with fantastic pizza and pasta dishes. Our first night we had a meal for 4 with a couple of large bottles of water, a coke and a bottle of wine and a Nutella pizza(highly recommended) for about 57 euros. The area is obviously used to tourists being on a lake so there are lots if icecream parlours and restaurants to choose from but not used to many English tourists so a translator is useful. Being a little off the tourist trail it means your euros go a lot further, we were shocked after a visit to Venice. That said everyone without exception was really helpful and friendly everywhere we went I don't think I've ever been anywhere more friendly especially when you don't share a common language. The area has amazing views and you don't have to go very far to see spectactuarlly beautiful scenery, particularly Lake Iseo (take the route over the mountain rather than the main road and you get rewarded with a beathtaking view of the lake and surrounding mountains as you come down the other side. All in all Everyone in the family, including two hard to please teenagers voted to return and very soon.Thank you Annarita and family for a wonderful and relaxing holiday!!
