We enjoyed a lovely evening at The Shore for a birthday meal. The food was excellent and the staff were very friendly and professional. Highly recommended 😌

My thanks to the team at the Shore hotel, Gansey. My sister and I ventured south in search of somewhere different to lunch. We discovered the Shore Hotel and were pleased to find spacious parking with a disabled friendly entrance into a beautiful dining lounge overlooking the sea. We were excited to see such a vast menu - something to meet everyone's taste. Our starters arrived after a short wait - food is cooked freshly to order, so we expected having to savour the delightful scent of food before being able to eat! When our food arrived it was so worth it; rarely have we both been  so satisfied. The food had been skillfully prepared with attention to detail.  I have been lucky enough to experience my share of fine dining and today was as good as it gets! I'd go as far to say that my crème brûlée was probably the best I have ever had - and I lived in France for many years. I'd highly recommend a visit - helpful, friendly staff, outstanding kitchen team and lovely location.

We stayed in one of their cottages up at the farm which was amazing! Corner cottage took our breath away, the views are something else! Lovely inside and out with comfy bed and furniture and a well stocked kitchen. Can’t fault it one bit. Our little dog loves horses so he was made up to be living amongst them for a few days. Becky and Julie looked after us and their attentive helpfulness was refreshing! We will be back! Food here at the hotel was excellent with great service from lovely staff. We called in twice we enjoyed it that much despite a short drive, definitely worth a visit and a fantastic location with great views.

Having parked up near Castleton and walked along the coast we were certainly ready for, what turned out to be, a great afternoon meal.
Great choice on the menu and the specials board and the food our party opted for was excellent, well prepared and well presented.
I had what was probably the best lamb mousakka, Greek salad and garlic bread. The risotto, lamb cutlets, gammon etc and Sunday roast were, equally, first class.
Highly recommended.

Pet owners should be aware that, although the venue claims to be pet friendly, they are restricted to the bar area only!

My Manx relatives ,my family ,husband and many friends were there 

The staff were truly fantastic , we were able to all have A La Carte and everything was perfect

We very much enjoyed our stay at the hotel, in fact the best we'd stayed in, excellent food, spotlessly clean and very convenient location for touring the Isle of Man and only a 10 minute drive away from the airport.  Everywhere also accessible by bus. Very relaxing place to stay opposite the beautiful Gansey Bay. 
All the staff were lovely, very friendly and so helpful, going that extra mile.  
We would love to stay again soon and highly recommend the Shore Hotel.

The Shore Hotel has been a 'go to' destination for Manx lovers of good food for many years but it has stretched its boundaries in the past year or two.
On a small island surrounded by the Irish Sea the fish on your plate was feeding on the seabed yesterday. Yoy will not get better cod than this.
The service is professionally quiet and the view of the sunset over Gansey Bay is a 'bucket list' picture.

Room was very spacious and well furnished. Bed was exceptionally comfortable.   Bar was very welcoming and the food was very good with a wide choice.  The staff and service were exceptionally good and made the Shore Hotel,a fantastic place to stay.  The bus stop right outside made travelling round the island easy.

We’ve been staying here for 3 nights in room 5 and it was such a great experience 

My family are from the island and eaten here many times but never stayed

Our room was huge ,great views and fab sleep 
Staff are great and service first class

Mike and Julie run a tight ship and deliver unlike many other more expensive places we have stayed

We had an awesome welcome from Jack on our first day at the Shore Hotel. Very friendly and made us feel very welcome. We ate in on our the first night to see what the grub was like. We felt we had hit the jackpot as the food was amazing, we actually ended up eating 3 nights out of 7 at the shore because it was so good! We stayed in room 3; which even had a terrace looking out onto the bay, this was used loads especially at night when we watched the sunset. The room was very comfortable and both my husband and I slept SO well every night, and that is unusual for us when we are away from home. A massive thank you to Jack, Julie, Netty, Debs, Lily and the whole team for making our week away fantastic! We rarely say this but The Shore Hotel was so good we will definitely be going back for round 2! If I could have scored the Shore Hotel 6 then I would have!

Sunday Dining Delight With Best Friends

I stayed here on 24th January 2024. The place has a good feel as soon as you walk in with tasteful decoration and a welcoming ambience. The staff are extremely friendly and the breakfast was perfect. The room as nicely furnished and came complete with a wood burner which created a homely feel. Would recommend.

Nice Ambience

Lovely room, very clean & spacious - think we preferred the sofa towards the fireplace meaning the armchair could look out at the sea view which you're paying for. Breakfasts were very good and evening was mainly good just prefer my veg cooked not hard! ;) the grilled prawn starter could do with dressing of some sort as was dry and rather tasteless along with the unseasoned salad. The en suite shower with the fibre optic lights was cute but could seriously do with some repair work on the floor as there are parts of the mosaic pebble tiles missing which leaves the floor surface dangerously sharp for bare feet :(  and the loo by the long window is unique to say the least! Especially when someone is coming down the staircase above looking into your reflective window! Really think a window blind should be available to ensure modesty! The bed is huge but has seen a lot more wear on the side closest into the room so you feel you are falling out of bed! Our main dock of one star is for us the proximity to the road & it being the main thoroughfare for traffic meant two disturbed nights & early road noise so no chance of a lie in :( The room is above the restaurant so some noise can be heard but no later than 11pm.  Would have loved the opportunity to give feedback on checkout but we weren't asked sadly :"(  so value for money was mostly felt just some tlc and it would be better but the road for us was a no no for returning sadly.
