I usually stay at the chain hotels but decided to give this motel a try. I'm glad I did. This is a great choice for a hotel in Port Hope. The hotel is reasonably priced and the rooms are super clean and the beds are really comfortable. Also the owner is super nice and you can tell he really cares and ot shows. He really wants his guests to have to have a great stay. Also the hotel is not near any main roads so it's super quiet. Yet is still very close to the 401.

My stay was good, check in and check out were easy and quick, staff was super friendly, and the room was a modest size, clean and comfortable bed. No complaints whatsoever, would stay again.

The staff were very pleasant and offered to help in anyway if needed and the facility was very clean and comfortable.

The place is very clean. I recommend in a secluded place away from the main road.

Perhaps the cleanest and quietest motel / inn I have ever stayed at.  The owners at check-in were friendly in every way. The pride in hard work and ownership second to none. Check-in was super easy and a breeze.The room was prestine, neat, clean, and tidy.  We will be back to this Gem in the future.

Owner that cares.

We travelled on September 2024 and needed a place to spend the night and found this gem.  The owners were very friendly and told us they renovated/updated the rooms on their own. The room was clean, everything was perfect.  I can say that I slept like a baby, as the mattress was super comfy.  My only regret is to not ask what brand it was. I strongly recommend!

The owner, Raj, was a patient and kind host. I needed a place to stay 5 days for work training. Budget Inn exceeded my expectations. The room was modern and renovated, the bed was comfortable, the sheets were warm, and it was temperature controlled. Towels were changed daily. The rates were highly affordable. I would book again! I've been bicycling across Canada this summer and have stayed in dozens of motels.  This was by far the nicest one I have stayed in, but the cost was similar to all the motels that smelled bad, had 40 year old beds and linens, and frequently had non-working air conditioners or mini-fridges.  I wish I had a reason to head back, as the linens were similar quality to what I use at home, and the shower had honest-to-goodness marble walls!  All the amenities and fixtures seemed new.  This place has earned my top ratings!

First time staying in a motel with my husband for 2 nights. The staff and owner are very helpful. We were allowed to change our room upon check-in with no problem. After we checked out the owner left a message on my cell informing me that I forgot my earphone. How thoughtful of him! Thanks. The room where we stayed was very quiet. The place and its surroundings are very clean. We will stay there again when we are in Port Hope.

I had a very short stay at this property, but was 100% impressed: the owner greeted me on my late arrival, and put me in a very new-seeming room. It was clean, warm, comfortable, and anything I would have wanted was close to hand. New mattress, nice sheets and towels, coffee maker, fridge and microwave were all highly functional and convenient. Excellent value.

You will not regret staying here.

I don't normally expect to be surprised by a budget motel in a semi-rural environment, but the Budget Motel in Port Hope was a stunning surprise. It is a little off the beaten track, and is not visually prepossessing. However, we found our room immaculate, everything clean and proper, everything in working order: this is a place that is treated with love and care by its owners.

I can recommend it to anyone who is looking in the area for a room for the night. While in the countryside, it is only minutes to downtown Port Hope, which is a charming town.

I would definitely stay at the Budget Inn again.

A genuine surprise

A real hidden gem! Looks ordinary from the outside, however the rooms are completely redone, modern, very clean and adequately appointed with very comfortable bed, plenty of hot water, several USB ports, good TV, accessible plugs, fridge and microwave, bed lamps and large desk. Full service ESSO at corner. Easy access off 401.

Immaculate Renovated Hidden Gem

Budget Inn motel is a little treasure.  Amazingly clean, newly renovated no detail was forgotten.  The staff is extremely friendly.  Our friends forgot a cell in the room.  The landlord called us and because we were already hundreds of miles away, he sent us the phone by mail.  Superb! I highly recommended.

For what we paid, we were very impressed with this small motel.  We stayed in one of the renovated rooms.  What I noticed was the quality of the finishes.  Much higher than I would expect for this type of property.  It seems they paid attention to detail, and put thought into making the rooms comfortable for quests.  It makes a difference, would highly recommend when in the area!
