Just come home from a weeks holiday in Appartment  Stadler it was absolutely Gorgeous , 
The view was to die for and the accommodation was immaculate , would not hesitate to recommend this apartment to friends and family.
The owner Elisabeth was such a lovely lady very welcoming and informative we will be going back as soon as we can.


We stayed in this Appartment in december 2014. From room we had beautiful view on the lake and hills. Near is a lot of lakes and lovely villages. In winnter in this villages are magic and very nice christmas markets.
Owner of this appartment house is very nice and helpful by planing our trips to Salzburg and other villages.

This review is LONG overdue! I stayed here with my boyfriend in October 2013 for 2 nights. When I reserved the room online I was a bit hesitant because I couldn't find much information about it, but it was literally the only place available for the dates I needed in both Obertraun and Hallstatt so I booked. Surprisingly, for there not being any places available to stay when I was trying to reserve, it was very quiet and still. When we arrived in Obertraun it was a really nice walk to the B&B, surrounded by mountains, passing an old, small cemetery with a beautiful view of Hallstatt across the lake. We were welcomed in and quickly shown to our room which was amazing! We had the room upstairs from the main floor which was a one bedroom apartment with a full eat in kitchen, balcony, huge bathroom and windows everywhere to take in the views (which was spectacular at the top of the hill the B&B is located on). I feel terrible because I cannot remember the owners name, but she had all the information we needed to get the most of the area including maps and pamphlets, bus and train schedules (which at the time we were there were useless because the train wasn't running to Hallstatt or Obertraun for some time before that) but she kept us well informed that the trains would be resuming service on the day of our departure and kept letting us know about any updates necessary for our departure. She works at 5 Fingers as well so she was able to give us plenty of information on how to get the most out of visiting there. She was very sweet, offering to drive us here and there in the mornings on her way to work. The "apartment" was nice and quiet, not really any street lights to interfere with the view of the stars, 5 Fingers lit up at night, looking over quaint, little Obertraun towards Hallstatt. it was a beautiful stay. Although most people visit that area to see Hallstatt I highly recommend staying at Apartment Stadler if you're looking for a place that feels like the comfort you feel when you're at your own home.

Obertraun is the town right across the river from Hallstatt. It is much more quiet and with less tourists then Hallstatt and this is why I recommend a stay there - in Apartment Stadler. Elisabeth is a great host and she will make you feel right at home. The 2 room apartment has a kitchen and dining area with direct views to the lake, and the bedroom has a terrace in which you can have breakfast. The apartment was clean and tastefully decorated. It is well equipped with a fridge, coffee machine and satellite TV. At night there is absolutely no noise, guaranteeing a good nights sleep. It is the perfect place to stay if you yearn for peace and quiet away from the average tourist and still want to visit Hallstatt. A car is highly recommended. 

Minus points:

Dead bug on the window surprise.

Pots and pans were badly scratched and cheap utensils that contained teflon and other harmful materials when the surface is heated. It should not be used for cooking and Elisabeth should replace them immediately with stainless steel, copper or cast irons ones.

Arriving at night made it difficult to find the place as none of the signs were reflective. It was much easier to get there in the daytime. 

Plus points:

The lady - Elisabeth, was nice and friendly.

The view from our apartment was stunning and breathtaking. 

The beds were comfortable and homely.

Great bakery 5 minutes away from the apartment with delicious bread.
