Excellent location, close to centre of Puerto Ayora with its restaurants, shops and docks, minutes from The Charles Darwin Research Centre, charming property, very clean rooms, comfortable beds, pool, hammocks, good breakfast, excellent service!

Home away from Home!

WE LOVED MAIDITH AND WOULD RETURN IN A SECOND! Juan Carlos and his staff were wonderful, very accommodating, serviceable, and friendly. They treated us like family.  

PROS: 
- "Close to the action" but not so close that it is noisy.
- Pool - We have a 5-year-old daughter and the small pool (jacuzzi-sized) kept her busy and happy when we were not out on excursions. The pool turned out to be a lifesaver for our daughter and also for us, since it was very hot, even in March. 
- Safety - We felt very safe at all times. Puerto Ayora felt very safe at all times, but also at Maidith the door to the street was kept locked at night and because it is small enough, there wasn't as much coming and going throughout the day. 
- Breakfast - Each day our breakfast was delicious and made right when we walked in. Fresh fruit and food.
- Location - 5 minute walk to the main street but also right across the street from Galapagos Dreams, through which we did all our excursions. There is also a couple of minimarts down the block if you need basics.
- Treated us like family - Juan Carlos even kept an eye on our daughter when she got antsy to get going and we were still getting ready. He also gave us a recommendation for a private driver in Quito, since he knew we were anxious about safety, especially as we had our daughter with us.
- Juan Carlos is working on updates to the hotel. Our room (at the very top) had not been updated yet (it was perfectly fine nonetheless) but we had a huge roof terrace all to ourselves which was a lifesaver for setting things out to dry. 

CONS:
- Poor wifi - I have to mention this because it is true, but I also have to say that we found this to be the case throughout the Galapagos, period. It has nothing to do with Maidith.
- Bedding - My husband found the beds and pillows to be not very comfortable and they made it difficult for him to rest. I did not find them super comfortable but was able to sleep fine. 

TIP: Make reservations directly with the hotel. I initially booked through a third-party website but there was a glitch and I had to rebook directly with Juan Carlos. Soooo glad I did because we saved about $200. 

Maidith was the best place we could have stayed!

Juan Carlos and his staff go out of their way to make you feel like family! We stayed here for a week and will definitely be back! The rooms are neat and clean, the location is a block off one of the main roads so it is quiet, yet close to activities. The whole hotel is very enchanting with a whimsical design throughout. As great as the establishment is, the staff is among the best we’ve ever had. They adjusted their schedules to accommodate us. They are simply the best. If I could rate more than 5 stars I certainly would!

Very nice hotel, beautiful edifice. The owner is very professional helpful and kind. The breakfast is amazing . Our room was lovely.  The pool was clean and quaint .I would absolutely recommend this hotel to any traveler to the islands. I've been to 20 countries and i think i enjoyed this hotelote than any other i can remember 

Best hotel I've ever stayed in

Stayed here one night following our short cruise. A very convenient and welcoming place to relax. Quiet but just a stones throw from little shops & eateries & only a few minutes walk from the port & main square. Clean, comfortable, spacious rooms, everything provided, tasteful decoration, a nice courtyard garden with small pool to cool off, and the loveliest hosts who were always available but not intrusive, we felt very 'at home'. Good coffee and breakfast too.

Highly recommended!

I stayed at the Maidith Hotel with my wife, mother in law, and two kids in two rooms. Both were very good size with nice accommodations.  As a family with two little kids (6 & 1) we were comfortable and the staff went above and beyond to make us fee at home. The hotel is close to everything in town and has a nice pool and area to dine for breakfast. 

I can’t say enough about Juan Carlos and his family. They are fantastic and he has a great network on the island to assist with excursions, taxis, and more. 

I will be back and can’t wait to see JC and family again.

Family friendly and amazing staff

My wife and I booked a package of activities through and agent in Ecuador
but of the limited choices of hotels offered by them we found nothing special,
so we searched for a hotel that would be a convenient, reasonably priced boutique hotel experience. The Maidith was spot on!   Initially we were drawn to  the pictures on tripadvisor/expedia of a small but seemingly beautiful and unique  hotel   The Maidith has a homey feel  combining old world Spanish flare with some beautiful modern touches.  This is a really pretty place with attention to detail everywhere from the beautiful colorful  tiling on walkways and patio to the tastefully appointed rooms. Everything was immaculately clean with and air of freshness that  seemed as if it was very recently renovated. really    The room was quite large, tastefully decorated, comfortable  and even had a small balcony.   It is located in the heart of Puerto Ayora, very convenient to everything including shops, restaurants, the piers and beaches, as well as the Darwin Center, but still on a quiet side street.  Breakfasts were great and prepared fresh with something  different every day.  Finally, the owner Juan Carlos and his staff were helpful and attentive to all our needs and provided great local advice. We could see he wants to make  everyone's experience there is good, He even decorated the place for my birthday!


A great small boutique hotel with old world  Spanish flare and Modern touches

Such a lovely place to stay in Santa Cruz, Galpagos. Juan and his staffs were very friendly,  always willing to help with any info we needed during the trip. They made sure to we feel like at home. Rooms were clean (beddings, towels, and whole environment were very clean) , cozy, quiet, and secure. The location is amazing. Nice breakfasts
We are definitely planning to visit Maidith again during our next trip to Galapagos. 

Lovely place to stay in Santa Cruz, Galapagos!

Wow wow wow words cannot express how amazing this trip was! The beautiful Galápagos Islands are truly a wonder of the world and a MUST to add to your bucket list. The only thing that made this trip even better was getting to stay at the beautiful Maidith Galápagos Inn. Everything from the room to the staff to the location was amazing and could not have been better. Juan Carlos and his staff truly made my visit so enjoyable and memorable and I could not have asked for more! Highly recommend both visiting the Galápagos and staying at Maidith Galápagos Inn for a once in a lifetime experience.

BEST TRIP EVER!!!

Just spent a month at Maidith Galapagos Inn. This boutique hotel is a hidden gem providing personal service. Juan Carlos and his staff attended to all our needs. He allowed us to tour the hotel and all the rooms are very unique including elements endemic to the island. The rooms are impeccable and the room rate includes a delicious full breakfast. I highly recommend this hotel, look for the turquoise door.
