Galapagos Morning Glory

We stayed here twice, before and after going to Isabela Island. We enjoyed our stay in both of our rooms. The property is in a good location and close walking distance to attractions and restaurants. We didn't use the kitchen, but it would be great if you wanted to cook and eat in. The property was nice and had lots of pretty plants. There is filtered water on-site so we could refill our reuseable water bottles and not contribute to single-use plastic waste. I also appreciated that there was a spot to dipose of food scraps for composting. The staff were kind and friendly and assisted us with questions and booking a taxi. Would recommend!

The Morning Glory was absolutely perfect. Located perfectly at the main road it was still quiet.
It is a beautiful and lovingly arranged place with an extremely friendly staff. They have great recommendations and informations for activities, restaurants etc. The whole place was clean and you have everything you need.
I can only recommend it!

This is really one of the nicest hostels I've stayed at. The host/owner was incredibly helpful and gave wonderful recommendations. The room was very large and nice, and had AC, which was a definite plus. Overall, just a wonderful place to stay, in a great location.

The location, people, and comfortability of this hotel were great! Marco greeted me as I arrived with reccommendations on what to do and where to visit. He was also nice enough to get me bread each morning (as they had suspended their breakfast service because of high prices). The kithcen was clean and easy to use. My room was cleaned each day and when I asked for another blanket after the first night they were happy to help. The location is ideal as you can walk everywhere you need to. As a solo female traveler, I felt extremely safe and comfortable staying here (and in the rest of Puerto Ayora). It was super relaxed and a great place to come back to after days of diving. 

Was recommended this hostal by dive operators and also saw on Air Bnb. Lovely place, on the main drag but enough away to be quiet and in its own hip neighborhood (and right next to the best sushi i have ever had). Private room with bath was artistic and quiet, opened to a courtyard and garden with hammocks and an outdoor kitchen and eating area, at which I often sat with my fellow travelers and traded tips and stories. Reuben, the host, is excellent and a former guide, so he has so many good tips and is eager to share. Good security. Loved it loved it.

Wow! What an unforgettable stay we had at Morning glory during our last few days in paradise before the COVID nightmare. The rooms were spacious and and the Air-Con was necessary after a long day out in the sun. The free breakfast in the morning was delicious and the location was just off the main square, a quick 5 minute walk away from the nighttime street food market. The real highlight however was the staff... the owner/host, Daniel, was hospitable and gracious as he helped coordinate many of the best portions of our trip. He always enjoyed taking the time to chat with all travellers over morning coffee and really made our stay there memorable. While we were leaving he was kind enough to share a parting gift with us: a bag of his favourite Galapagos coffee (which, once we were able to return to Canada and brew up a cup, did not disappoint!!). To summarize, whoever ends up reading this review, please heed my advice and book at Morning Glory ASAP!! You won’t regret your decision!!

I stayed at Morning Glory in March during the Corona outbreak for three nights. 

What I liked:
+Most of the accomodations are located facing the beautiful and quite calm garden. 
+The staff was very friendly and helpful during the time of Corona outbreak and they helped me organizing things.
+The bed was quite comfortable
+I liked the cupboard and other things in the room to organize yourself. 
+A very good hot shower
+Good working A/C
+The location within Puerto Ayora is very good

Ideas for further improvement in the future:
-The room keys are supposed to be left at the reception desk and there they are easily accessible for everyone and in the rooms there is no safe. I didn't feel unsafe during my stay but there is no need to make things that easy.
-A credit card payment should be installed to make travel easier and safer. The price is high enough so that you could expect a credit card machine.
-The breakfast (I didn't try it) should be optional bookable. Not everybody is a breakfast person. 

Overall: I had a good time and I would stay there again.

My friend and I stayed 5 nights in this lovely hostal.  The location is perfect, easy walk to restaurants, fish market and the Darwin Center.  The gardens and hammocks offered a pleasant respite from all the action. Daniel and family members were wonderful to chat with and address any needs we had.  The breakfast and free water for filling our water bottles were also a great $saver. I would definitely stay here again.  Great value and great place.

We were travelling South America as part of a 6 week trip, and got to Galapagos and already our budget was taking a hit with the Numerous Taxes! We booked this hostel as it was cheap and the location was ideal as we were going to take boats to the other islands and wanted to be near the buzz for eating and walking to places.

The hostel was walking distance to Darwin's centre, Tortuga bay, and Las Grietas (small water taxi needed). Bed was comfy, air conditioning was there is needed, toilets clean and the garden area for relaxing and for WiFi was great.

Daniel the co-owner was so friendly, had great stories and was helpful holding our bags. We ended up booking 2 more nights! Definitely recommend!

I really liked this hostel! I stayed here because a friend recommended it to me. Unfortunately I could only stay here for one night because it was fully booked the other nights. 

It offers free drinking water. The girl at the reception spoke really good English and was very friendly. 
The single room was of a good size, but quite sober. Bathroom was okay. Shower had hot water. The bed was good.
It is a nice complex with a nice garden and lots of cozy places to sit and relax. 
Location of the hostel is very good. It is on the main street. 
You can rent bikes here.
Breakfast was very good for a hostel! 

A few negative things is that my room was dark green painted and that made the room very dark. A lighter color would be better.
It has no kitchen where you can cook.

Enjoyed Our Stay

We had a great stay at this nice hostal. We flew into Baltra and needed a place to stay for two nights before heading to Isabela. We chose this place because of the price and it looked nice for what we were paying. We are budget travelers and don’t need much more than a comfortable bed and a hot shower. This place fit the bill. It has a keypad entryway to a hallway and kind of an open patio area, so it felt very safe. It also was quite quiet when we were there in June. The room was very basic with a bed and a small nightstand and a very basic bathroom with toilet sink and shower. We didn’t need anything more than that. The outdoor common areas are very nice. There are many hammocks and other types of seating throughout. There is also an open kitchen and dining area. we were going to have breakfast there the next morning, but there was some confusion and our order never went through on the WhatsApp. You need to order in advance. However, I highly recommend breakfast, lunch or dinner at Nazca. It was one of our favorite restaurants in the area and it was recommended by the manager of this place.
