The accommodation in the bungalow is good. The menu is too little with only 3 main dishes, please consider this. The service could also improve but they have the intention. Maintenance has to be difficult being in the jungle because we notice a few areas that need it but you can’t complain for the price you pay. The lobby is pretty cool and the WiFi is fast.

Good accommodation for a decent price

I tried to book this lodge at the end of March 2019 but it seems they have closed because they don’t reply anywhere (mail/facebook/phone numbers) and at their exact address there is now a place called Selina Amazon Lodge. They also use the same pictures as Cotococha. It’s a bit funny that they have updated prices for 2019 on their website and even promotions here on TripAdvisor. Just remove the website please and announce that you have closed please.

We went to a carnival in Selina (new name) and were given the double rooms #26 and #27, with shared bathroom.When I made the purchase on Expedia and saw photos, all the rooms seemed spacious but those that gave us very uncomfortable. NO PHOTO of these rooms, which they promote on the Internet are spacious and spacious.

The Cotochoca lodge is very beautiful and rustic with no electricity at all in any of the rooms. We used an oil lantern in our room and had to have mosquito nets around our beds to keep out more than mosquitos. There were several insects that I were creepy enough to not want them crawling on me while I slept. The "hot" water in the showers was never discovered, so all three nights, we had barely lukewarm water. There is indoor plumbing in the cabins. The main restaurant area served delicious meals, but they were extremely pricey at $22 USD per person for dinner - breakfast was included in our rate. Drinks were also very expensive with most cocktails costing around $9 USD. The lodge is isolated, so it is at least a 20-minute ride or longer into the nearest town if you wish to have other choices for dining. The staff was very attentive and welcoming. One negative is that there was a giant group staying at the lodge and I was traveling with my friend, so we were the only other guests. The giant group got all the attention and hospitality of the lodge. My friend and I were relaxing one night at the fireplace area in the main lodge and when the giant group finished dinner, they asked my friend and me to leave the fireplace so that they could accommodate the huge group for a chocolate making demonstration. Not only were we asked to move, but we also were feeling left out of a cool demonstration. I felt that for the cost of our room ($100 USD) and the fact we were isolated from other dining options, it was not the best value and I would not stay there again as I feel there are more reasonable options in Tena and nearby villages. They also charge additional fees for wifi and you can only charge phones and cameras at the main lodge area.

Beautiful and Extremely Rustic Jungle Lodge

I was invited to carry out an inspection of the hotel, along with my wife and son.From the moment we arrived the staff of the lodge received us with the best of care.The cabin they delivered to us was better than we expected, had several beds, and even a small cot.The food was of the best standards and the infrastructure was improved and new, keeping the rustic concept of the place.Very recommended for the stay of families with children, since even a small area with educational games is found in your lobby.Thank you very much for the opportunity!

Excellent experience with the best reception!

The location right on the Rio Napa is charming. The activities offered by the lodge are diverse and will be remembered as wonderful experiences. The team is very hospitable, friendly and helpful. The Ecuadorian food is delicious and sufficient. We would return anytime!

Jungle feeling guaranteed

We had a fantastic four nights and three days at this lodge on the Napo River, a large river that flows into the Amazon River. On our daily excursions with fantastic guides Marco and Alfredo, we saw dozens of unique birds, four kinds of monkeys, medicinal plants, numerous species of trees and orchids, waterfalls and lots of bananas. One highlight of many was a hike through the jungle to a waterfall where we swam. Then we hiked to our boat and tubed back to the lodge.  Very helpful and friendly staff went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and interesting; they even made special meals for the vegan in our family.

I made a reservation through hotels.com two weeks in advance of a three-day local holiday, when I reviewed the reservation the night before the trip, to my surprise I saw that the reservation was canceled.I immediately proceeded to call first Hotels.com and then the hotel directly to receive a response from those who had unilaterally canceled my reservation because it was a holiday and they were not sure that I was going to attend!!!!!It seems insulting to me that being a reservation made through a platform that asks for and asks for the hotel's use of a credit card, they have absolutely nothing professional to lose in the event of no show, which makes me unacceptable.

I was in april 2018 for 4 days at the lodge. It was relaxing, with every day a good programme with a guide, as you wish. The first 2 days I was the only guest, but the scheme and hospitallity stays great. Beautiful lodges and all the eating was as in a 5* restaurant.

It is located on the banks of the Napo River, a tributary of the Amazon.The landscape is very attractive and the stay at the hotel, an interesting experience.The rooms are wooden huts, without electricity and illuminated with oil lamps, which makes it rustic but cozy.The meals and services and excursions offered are good.Perhaps it lacks some maintenance, especially in the common area.It is unnecessary that they charge to use the internet.
