El hotel Joya de la Selva en Tena is serviced by its owner permanently, el Sr. Fernando quienes muy cordial. Despite being a family-run hotel, its rooms have all the amenities of the very good chain hotels. Furnished modern and pleasantly designed floors and bathroom with porcelain, spacious rooms, a very large sleeping bed, a working one and a very good wifi. The breakfast area is pleasant. El desayuno no es buffet, it is truly homemade with local dishes. You can taste eggs or no but it has its own cali, and always the coffee and ice cream served to start the day. The location is very good, close to the Lineal Park and some shops.

A very comfortable, modern hotel with spacious airplanes, without losing the warmth of the Ecuadorian Amazon.

Excellent hotel, clean, with very good breakfasts, in a strategic area 5 minutes from the International BMX Track and 5 minutes from the malecón and the commercial part of the Tena. 100% recommended, its owners Fernando y María personally serve you.

Es un Hotel Nuevo with spacious, clean and luxurious rooms, with a swimming pool and a car park in the same place, totally recommended in the end the best place to stay in el Tena, no restaurant open 24 hours but if a very nice breakfast buffet.

The best hotel in the city of Tena.

Due to the fact that I frequented the city of Tena a lot, it was always very difficult for me to find a good hotel there, since the nice ones are very expensive, and the most accessible ones are somewhat deteriorated by the weather conditions.This hotel is well located (three blocks from the central park), it is a new hotel that does not attract much on the outside but that on the inside is very well designed.The rooms are spacious and tasteful, with large and comfortable beds, with TV, cable, internet, air conditioning, good air conditioning, desks.I recommend this place for any type of accommodation (of one or several days, sea passes, friends or family) Aayuno: The price ratio is very good for new rooms and designed with good taste, with excellent care with a swimming pool and a swimming pool, and they have no other rooftop.

This is the hotel that Tena needed, very good.

The rooms are large. When we arrive we can pick whichever we like. Well clean. It's not very common but they also put bottles of water in the rooms. The hotel staff is very friendly. They don't have a restaurant, so if they have it but you can't order dinner or lunch. The staff called some number and brought us the tilapia al yugo - it was risky!! If you're there ask for it!! They have a small breakfast.

Tena is a town catered mostly to packbackers.  Hostels are plentiful while hotels are few. This hotel is centrally located in town without being on the busy streets. It is an easy walk across the river to the main boulevard. The corner suite ($120 after tax) comes with a king size bed. This room is humongous and sparsely furnished. The standard double room is okay ($90). Each room has A/C. 

Now the quirks.  No one has heard of this hotel. NO ONE! It took 30 minutes to find this place after a long 4 hour drive from Quito. The owners are Ecuadorians and do not speak any English or know how to cater to foreign tourists. They made us pay the entire bill after one night even though we are still staying there for 2 more nights. They tried to tag on an 11% fee for paying with a credit card even though Booking.com does not specify that the price is for cash only. We did not pay the fee so the owner ignored us for the rest of the time we're there. The lighting in the rooms is horrible. Recessed ceiling lights shine in your face when your in bed. There is no lamps on the night stand. The WiFi in the rooms are almost non- existent.

FYI - We did get some cash out of the ATM down the street and Chase charged a flat fee of $5. Not sure what the limit is. $600 was too much. $300 was accepted.

Do stay here if you are proficient in Spanish and want a clean air conditioned room in a good location. If you want a place that's helpful and can set up tours, check out La Casa Blanca hostel. It's a little far from town but the owners are well liked.
