We stay here every time we come to Vilcabamba. The gardens are beautiful, rooms are clean, breakfast is delicious, and the staff are helpful and kind. The location is perfect so close to the town square. Would highly recommend you stay here.

Hidden behind high walls, we found the most beautiful garden. From the outside furniture in front of our room we saw bushes and flowers and mountains in the background. It was hard to tear myself away for a walk through the town after a delightful breakfast in the open gazebo surrounded by plants. As projected by Lonely Planet that all hotels would do, Le Rendez-Vous Hotel had given us a photocopied map with walks: 7 of them! This went way beyond the walking tracks in maps.me. The 4 nights we stayed were not enough for this beautiful hotel, town and surrounding area.

I spent 3 nights at this hotel in May of this year-2018.This is a great place to stay.The owner,Nicholas,is friendly and welcoming and handled check-in speedily.The room I was given was large and clean and serviced daily.Outside was a beautiful garden and breakfast was served on a terrace overlooking it....Sleep quality was excellent and this hotel is definitely worth a return visit...!0 out of 10.I paid 32 dollars per night and felt that I got value for money

This clean, quiet hostel is about a four block wall to the central plaza and close hiking trails along the river or up to Agua de Hierro, a small grotto that's a source for mineral water strong in iron.

The owner and the manager were very friendly, helpful and spoke English.

Once inside, you find the cottages scattered throughout a beautiful, well kept garden.

Beautiful hotel, town and surrounding area

Excellent place to stay....great sleep quality...great breakfast

Great hostel

The hotel has a beautiful park setting with the rooms set up facing a park like courtyard.  The walls are thin and you can hear everything going on in the next room as well as outside - not a quiet place until late at night.  there is a private bathroom and some hot water in the rooms.  The mattresses are so old and there are no mattress covers on them - very dirty.  Honestly I felt dirty sleeping on them.  The comforters are stained and dirty as well.  The breakfast is simply some toast, coffee, and eggs with juice or coffee.  Coffee was good, as was toast.  Several in my group fed our eggs to the poor pet cat that was skin and bones living there.  They said it was skinny because it was old, but yet it ate with gusto when I fed it.  Very disappointed in this place and would never stay here again.  Staff provide service to you like it's a chore, not because they want to.
