For most travellers, Guayaquil is a one or two day stop and Hotel Nevada is perfect for this. It is only a $4 taxi ride from the bus terminal and it is only a 10 or 12 minute stroll down to the Malecon. It is in the central part of the city so there are many restaurants and mini markets nearby, and only 30m away from a big beautiful park where you can sit and watch the giant iguanas walking around. The rooms are old, but not dated. They are big and roomy, well decorated, and they provide air conditioning and cable T.V. Be warned though, there is no hot water in the showers. My wife and I would stay here again if we were passing through Guayaquil.
