Goya Suites & Apartments

This delightful little B & B / hotel is a hidden gem. Jorge Goya, the owner, is an incredible business person. He wears many hats like any smart business person and does an exceptional job at it all. My friend and I stayed here on our arrival night into Guayaquil in Jan. 2016. Jorge actually picked us up from the airport. Right on time and ready to assist us in any way. During this short stay and my subsequent visit as I left Guayaquil, Jorge not only offered dining suggestions, but personally drove me to several places. One stands out. I mentioned I wanted to get a "Panama" hat (actually made in Montecristo, Ecuador) for a friend. Jorge said he'd take me directly to the source. Holy smokes, what an incredible treat that was!! I met the gentleman whose father and grandfather sold these treasures to Presidents and Kings. They are hand woven and take many months each to make one. The price range was about $150 to over $1,000. Thank you Jorge for all your kindnesses and helpfulness. The lovely Bed & Breakfast type of lodging was just perfect. Though some say it is hard to find, it is near very busy streets, but tucked away and very safe. The rooms are large & air conditioned, the beds comfortable, and bathrooms clean. The breakfast was made to order and they catered to your needs. I can't say enough - this was a wonderful experience at Goya Suites & Apts. in Guayaquil.
