Mansion Santa Isabella

I had a great experience at the Mansion Santa Isabella. I got to the hotel at 11:30 in the morning and wanted to see if I could get a tour to Chimborazzo that afternoon. While no tour was understandably then available, the hotel made some quick calls and got a driver to take me to Chimborazzo for a hike to the Laguna and Refugio aet 5100 meters. That worked out perfectly for me. They also helped me with the bus schedule for my bus the following day to Cuenca. The hotel itself was beautifully decorated and appointed and offered a great full breakfast. The hotel is an old mansion and is worth staying at solely for the atmosphere, though the service matches as I have said. The room was really charming and atmospheric and quite quiet, if slightly on the smaller side. It is well located near restaurants and other activities in Riobamba (all within walking distance). The bathroom was impeccably clean and modern. As I mentioned, the service at the hotel was excellent. It was a true 4* experience and a very good value. If you are going to Riobamba or Chimborazzo, I definitely recommend the Santa Isabella.
