Hotel La Cascada

A very nice hotel in Lago Agrio, Ecuador (Nueva Loja). I spent a night here on my way to Cuyabeno reserve. Very quiet hotel, very friendly staff, away from the main street - yet very close to the place where the tourist bus picks you up for the trip to Cuyabeno. Good breakfast - nice service. They have a nice restaurant, sauna, massage service. Room was very comfortable.

We stayed here one night after coming out of Cuyabeno lodge. The staff were extremely welcoming and helpful.  My wife lost her luggage on the trip back from Cuyabeno.  The receptionist took my wife out shopping and helped her pick out emergency clothes.  They called the driver and arranged for our suitcase to be delivered to the hotel since we speak little Spanish.  They let us stay past checkout to get it.  
The rooms are clean, comfortable and had a full wall window.  As is often the case in Ecuador, the bed is firm.  The air conditioner takes a while to cool the room down but it's really quiet. There is a small pool with some fountains and a waterfall. It is a little cloudy but it is pretty.  It is open to the public so in the late afternoon, there are a few more people but the rest of the time, we had the pool to ourselves. The food was great and the service fast. It is right on the main street but back a bit so it's pretty quiet.

The accommodations and the service were just perfect, the food was delightful. 
I just had a really good experience in this hotel and town before my trip to Cuyabeno. 
I highly recommend the hotel to everyone.

My girlfriend and I stayed here two nights, we were on our way to the Cuyabeno Reserve so we decided to rest before we enter in the jungle. The room was exellent, it was big and very clean. 
AC worked very well, this is important because Nueva Loja is very hot. The shower is nice with fresh water (hot/cool)
Our favorite part was the pool, a very big swimming pool with a nice design, they also have a jacuzzi and sauna that were nice too. 
Staff is very friendly, they don't know much English but they did a good effort to communicate.

Problem with reservation with Hotels.com.Slow wifi. Bed real hard. Good staff when you can find them.  Had to hunt down someone to check in and other times. Good location. Play music too loud at pool.

In the centre of the city.  Easy walk to shops and restaurants.

We stopped here before a 4 days excursion in the amazona, room was clean, friendly staff, they also gave us the permission at no additioonal cost to leave our car in their private parking .Back in town we booked for an additional night.they slso have a nice pool but we did not used itI recommend this hotel with no hesitation.

If you don't speak Spanish the check in process can be a little difficult. Requesting extra towels or other items like toilet paper is difficult when you don't speak Spanish.  The free breakfast is American continental. It was very good. The young man  greeting and waiting tables in the restaurant is exceptional. He speaks some English.  I would recommend eating in the restaurant as the food is pretty good.

conveniently located on the main street but set back so it wasn't at all noisy. we overpaid using booking.com since i know someone who got half the rate by just turning up. However, Lago Agrio is not the sort of town you just turn up to....  we had 2 rooms but didn't feel comfortable leaving our 2 kids in the room across the open passage (no security at night) we all slept in one room but 'slept' is an exaggeration since the beds were boards - literally. Avoid here and go to Hotel Araza where we stayed on our night before our trip to the Cuyabeno reserve. Same price - better security and softer beds!

the hardest beds in Ecuador

We reserved two rooms for our family and found this hotel below standard.  We paid $75 per room and the rooms were not near as nice as other hotels in Ecuador.  The employees were ok but not very helpful.  They didn't seem to care that I couldn't find WIFI.  There were quite a few mosquitoes in the restaurant area.  The food in restaurant wasn't bad but not memorable.  The pool area seemed clean.  The beds had just a sheet. There was really nothing comfortable nor memorable about this hotel.
