Hostal Casa del Río

I stayed here for several days. The best thing about this place is that at night all you hear is the river. No street noise, no loud bars and no partying...just the soothing sounds of the Tomebamba river. The establishment is kept under lock and key. If you plan on staying out a little late, the owner will let you in after hours. Rooms are plain but kept clean. I personally had a private bathroom, but there are cheaper rooms without. The price is just right if you are on a strict budget. Location is great! A few steps from the river, a few blocks from many restaurants, the market and maybe 6 blocks from Parque Calderon. There is a huge kitchen and dining area to be used. Definitely worth a stay if you are on a strict budget but still want a private room with your own bathroom and want a good nights rest.
