Villa San Marcos HOTEL

I have been staying here for over a week and am very pleased. While my room is small, it is spotlessly clean with large towels that are changed daily. My room has a firm bed, a strong, hot shower, free soap and shampoo, a large closet, small flat screen TV with Spanish cable channels. It is in the back of the hotel so it is very quiet at night. Breakfast is included in the price and is served between 8 - 9:30am. You get a scrambled egg, croussant, butter, jam, Nescafe coffee, and juice. There is strong wifi on each floor. Mariana, the owner, will lock your valuables up for you, The hotel is quite safe as the front door is always locked; you must ring a bell to enter or leave, but Mariana or her help is always there to let you in and out. Since I would be staying a week or more, I was able to negotiate the price down a few dollars per night after I arrived. Surprisingly, I am often the only guest at the hotel, and this is Christmas week! Mariana will do your laundry for you, but you can get it done cheaper (60 cents a pound) if you take it to a small laundramat located on Mariana Cuerva between Sangurima and Mariscal Lamar. My window in my room on the second floor overlooks rooftops and you can see church steeples, the domes of the Cathedral, and mountains in the background.
