Hostal El Retorno

Stayed just the one night, I had the standard twin room. This was spacious and very clean. The hostel supplied towels and soap, and the room had a good number of sockets and a television. The bathroom was basic, and although my friends in other rooms received hot water, we did not, which was disappointing. This hostel is well located in the centre of Ibarra, which is a medium sized city just north of Otavalo, and had considerably fewer tourists, but was one of my favourite places in Ecuador. At $12 per person per night, this was a good find, especially with many restaurants and colonial buildings nearby.
