Naturaleza viva is a living species.

I'll describe it as it happened. We spent 2 nights, booking the best and most expensive of the suites, for the bathroom (the water was cold), the location (booking a pony 0.4km from downtown, ultimately resulting in a 12.3km. No internet. The breakfast was good and the attention of the hotel staff was good enough. We did not fulfill those three things for which we had rented the room, we decided to go to the market, paying the first night, after this pass. We said that we were in the hotel, that we did not refund the money for the second night.

For those who like it quiet, simple and clean, with a lovely local kitchen, this place is well-maintained. Above the roofs of Baños. Take a room with fireplace. It's not more comfortable. The beds are great. And real fresh bedding. Milk coffee with fresh milk. Logro is highly recommended. We would definitely go there again!

So it happened that the hotel we booked didn't take us, so after midnight we had to look for a place to stay. Finally, about an hour after the start, we got to this hotel in the mountains again. It was dark and it was raining, so we couldn't sleep for a couple of days, and the guests who wanted to stay were just sitting on the side of the road next to us. Hotel is almost on the top of the hill, so not to close to Banos center, which is good! you can quietly rest after daily attractions. Rooms are simple, but clean and nicely painted. A lot of flowers everywhere, benches to seat down and rest. If the weather is good you can have breathtaking view of the Tunguragua volcano. Local restaurant has very good cheap food and freshly made juices from local fruits. Staff is very friendly and helpful, specifically the hostess who even took us for a walk to see local lamas! There is no TV in room , but very good Wi-fi.

quiet, nice place

We went to dinner in the Orquideas with my husband, it's a magical place with a nice fireplace perfect for the cold I was making that night. The attention is excellent, no pressure, very kind. The food is excellent and at a good price, we ate your plate (which I don't remember the name) but it has meat and chicken, it was delicious and abundant, accompanied by a lemonade of maracuya, very rich.

Dinner in the Hosteria Las Orquideas

Pros:

1) Very clean, very comfortable.
2) Fireplace that can be lit at night if you request it.  They are very generous with firewood.
3) Quiet, quaint location, feels like a farm stay.
4) Food was very tasty, we had dinner and breakfast and it was great as well as a good value for $.
5) Close to casa de arbol, you can walk for 20 mins to get to it.
6) Family very nice and welcoming.

Cons:

1) No shower curtain so bathroom floor would get very wet when showering.
2) Location is $8-10 taxi ride away from town or 45 minute walk downhill (we never went uphill).
