Serenity Lodges Dominica

We stayed one night as it was close to the airport and we knew we’d be arriving in the dark. The hostess and her family were so lovely and welcoming. We arrived later than expected and though we had not reserved a dinner meal the hostess graciously made us some sandwiches. The breakfast was delicious. We would stay here again in a heart beat. This place is a gem.

Friendly host. Charming secluded property in the hills. Very enjoyable stay.

This place is a wonderful getaway, with lovely views and great places to relax. I especially enjoyed the food and how dedicated they are to making you feel welcome and cared about. I'd love to return and check out the tours as I didn't have time on this trip.

Always a wonderful stay at Serenity with Lester and Carina. Their cooking is the best on island! Very friendly and Lester always gives us a great island tour.

We loved our stay at Serenity Lodges in Dominica. The surroundings were beautiful, the room was clean and comfortable and we loved the way it was set up. We would definitely stay there again if we come back to Dominica.

We have just spent 4 days at Serenity lodges. The hospitality is outstanding. Home cooked meals are excellent. Rooms are spotless. Location is great for exploring that portion of the island.

Serenity lodges is the perfect place to stay when arriving at the airport! The owners, Lester and Carina, are wonderful people - they keep a spotless place, and they are very helpful. It is far enough out of Marigot to have peace and quiet after a long day’s travel – their dinner and breakfast are delicious! We can’t recommend them enough!

We loved our stay at Serenity Lodge! We chose it as our plane arrived late in the day at the airport and after a long day of travel, we didn’t want to drive far. It was the perfect place to stay. Not only for the location close to the Douglas- Charles Airport, but, more importantly, for the opportunity to meet Lester and Carina. A wonderful couple who warmly welcomed us, made a delicious dinner and made us feel at home! Their place is spotless, comfortable, and quiet! We loved it and will return.

Perfect from start to finish.

It was a very serene lodge. We only got to stay one night but the room was very clean and the beds were comfortable. We slept with the screened windows open and could hear the rain all night. It was such a good night’s sleep. The hosts were wonderful and we had a Continental Breakfast of fruit, avocado and toast and an excellent chicken and rice dinner with avocado and vegetables. I would like to return for a week or more.

Hidden Gem

I absolutely recommend anyone visiting Dominica to stay here.  I had an amazing stay thanks to the staff and the beautiful nature all around.  Very comfortable and relaxing.  I travel a lot and always stay in hotel, but this is a place of serenity.  Highly recommend to stay here for a different experience from your typical hotel.  You really get to take in the island and all its beauty.

It's a place in a nice location, albeit situated on a steep hill (a bit of a challenge to get there). You can sense and see care from the owner, however I have to point some things out:
The dinner at the property was very tasty, but the portions were very small especially considering the price.
The shower is an 'electric head', which means it can never get comfortably warm or have a good pressure. But the worst thing is that it gave my husband a very bad electric shock when he tried to adjust the shower head. He told the owner, but she didn't react much to the information. 
So all in all it's still a good place not far from the airport. Just remember not to touch the shower head when showering and maybe it's not a place for someone with a weak heart.

Nice place but needs improvement

We had a great stay at Serenity Lodge.  The airport transfer by Serenity Lodge after arriving late in the evening was much appreciated. They arranged to have a dinner ready for us once we arrived and before we went to bed . The food was amazing and exceeded any expectations we had! We woke up to see beautiful mountain views that we hadn't seen in the night when we got in. It looked like there was a hammock outside of each room, as well as a kitchenette available to each room for use for a small payment if needed. We'll absolutely stay there again!

Serenity lodges deserves the highest credit. From the moment I arrived to the lodge , I fell in love with this place immediately. The pictures cannot describe the beauty of this place. The lodge is situated in the middle of the rain forest, the trees, the flowers, the birds, the sounds of nature - you can all experience this at Serenity Lodges. The room is very cosy, well equipped with coffee facilities - you feel like at home. Wifi is super fast. The host - Lester picked me up from the airport, very friendly and helpful. You need to try the cuisine at the guesthouse - fish with rice and mango was awesome. Dinner was superb and very delicious. I truly enjoyed my time at Serenity Lodges. Dominica is a beautiful country with friendly people and it deserves more attention from tourism. If you love nature and you wanna have a real experience in the rain forest - this is the best place to stay. The hosts can support you with airport transfers, tours, food so do not hesitate to contact them.

Hidden Gem in beautiful Dominica

This place is less like a lodge and more like being hosted by a wonderful local family that shares their home and their culture. There are beautiful views every morning at breakfast and Carina will accommodate any dietary restrictions (I am vegan and gluten free). Having the tours coordinated in-house made the second half of my trip stress-free not having to navigate the bus system or pay excessive fees for taxis.
