We loved our time at 3 Rivers. We stayed for 5 nights and we thought that was a good amount of time to relax, hike around the property, and swim. The first two nights we stayed in the tent. The best part of the tent was hearing the jungle noises at night. We moved to the lime apartment for the other 3 nights. It had a small kitchen, private bathroom, and deck with a hammock and chair. The price for both accommodations were fair. 

The food was much better than we expected. Jem is a great cook and prepared something different every day. His vegetarian shepherd's pie, pizza, and chocolate cake were especially good. There is an extra fee for vegetarian meals, but he only charged us extra when he had to make a separate dish just for us, which only ended up being a few dinners.

The zipline-only access made it extra special. I highly recommend staying here if you are looking for a no-frills place with basic accommodations to relax in a natural setting.

Relaxing visit in the jungle

Absolutely delightful and memorable lodging experience in Dominica!  Jim has built something really special here, with wonderful surroundings, super friendly & helpful staff, great meals and drink (get one of the rum punches - or all of them), and a super good value.  Zip lining in and out of the property adds to the fun.  We found our cabin to be super comfortable and clean with good water pressure - it was surprising how cool the temperature got a few hours after sunset.  Any trip to Dominica should include a stay at 3 Rivers... in our case, we rented a car (4x4 required) and drove - it's only about 50 mins from the airport.

Super special & memorable stay

The 3 Rivers Eco Lodge “Hikers Dream” package seemed perfect for our winter holiday.  Undaunted by the prospect of zip lines needed since 2017 Hurricane Maria to access the lodge, we signed up for the one week stay.  Situated on an old banana plantation between two rushing jungle rivers, the lodge property itself is a laid-back haven of self-sufficiency that has been substantially rebuilt after the latest hurricane and will be even more improved once the hot water system is repaired!   Guests can commune with nature, with the lodge’s flock of chickens, hutch of rabbits and litter of kitty cats, with the staff and with each other at the outdoor family-style dining tables where excellent locally sourced food was served daily.  The local hard-working staff were great and the presence of young European volunteers added an international flavor.  The Rose Cottage was comfortable and our hiking guide was super helpful on the challenging hikes.  The staff were always willing to be flexible and accommodating in all ways, including a dial back of our hiking itinerary and provision of hot washing water in a bucket.  Overall, 3 Rivers will stand out as a truly rich memorable experience at a price that is a bargain considering the friendly atmosphere and many services included.       

     

Hikers Dream package in a self-sufficient haven

Our family loved staying here. It is really remote and surrounded by rainforest - and the gorgeous rivers you can swim in. The children loved the fact you could only access it by zip line! Our tent was comfortable and facilities fine. It’s a really special spot and I’d recommend it.

Really special place

Three Rivers Eco Lodge is an amazing place to stay. We arrived late at night (as the InterCaribbean flight was delayed) and some helpful staff came and assisted us as we zip lined two rivers, and had a lovely hike through a clearing. Even though we were in a tent, our experience was brilliant. We all slept really well and with great comfort. I saw another review stating "everything gets wet". Well, when we went, everything was dry (except from the weather at night)! My one problem was the lack of food, don't get me wrong, there was lovely breakfast and dinner, but there just wasn't much of it. All in all - a great, fun place to stay

Amazing!

My son and I love being in nature and always try to plan our vacations around spending time outdoors. Dominica has been on our list for a while and when I came across this eco lodge it sounded like the perfect spot to stay. It has everything we could have asked for.. beautiful rainforest nestled in a valley with an ocean view and eco/rustic accommodations with down to earth staff The owner, Jem, was very accommodating and dedicated to ensuring our experience was special (we are vegan/strict diet and they really came through with the food!). We opted for different tours with Jem to see amazing places on the island. Waterfalls, hot springs, mud baths, hiking, cultural villages and zip lining! It was magical. The zip lining was a bonus! It's the way to get to and from the lodge which made it such an adventure. If  you're looking for true Dominican experience please consider this place!

This place is for nature lovers!

We stayed one week in the rose cottage at 3 Rivers and found the accommodation to be lovely, very clean, and with everything we needed. Jem and the staff were warm and accommodating and very helpful with recommendations for what to see and do while we were in Dominica. Jem helped us connect with locals for experiences like forest bathing that we wanted to try. The food was always freshly made and very delicious, even with our vegan and vegetarian diet. It was an immersion in nature, a true paradise.

Delightful stay in the rainforest!

We LOVED this place!!!!!!! We - my husband, our 5 year old son and I - stayed at Jems wonderful Eco Lodge for one week and we wished, we could have stayed much longer! Jem is such a great person!!! He does everything that his guests spent a great time at his place. And everybody of his staff is so very nice and friendly! Pearl did so much for us! We enjoyed very much to come back and find our little house so very nice made. We loved the breakfast, the dinner, the delicous cakes made by Pearl - just everything of this place! The natural pool is perfect!!! We swam there morning and evening. During the day we enjoyed the surrunding nature and for two days we rented a car - which was just a perfect amount ouf time, to see something more of the island and have enough time to enjoy Jems place. If you are afraid to cross the rivers - this is no problem at all. You get used to it the first day. All three of us loved the river crossing! 
It was so hard to leave this beautiful paradise. Dominica has a place in our hearts and we are sure this falling in love with this outstanding island has much to do with this very best place to stay! THANK YOU JEM for sharing your paradise with us!!!!!!!

A place like paradise

I spent  7 Nights at 3 Rivers Eco Lodge recently and had a wonderful stay. A piece of Paradise in the rainforest on a beautiful Island.  Jem is the perfect host as he has lived there since 2000 and knows the area well so can offer advice if visiting places independently and also guided tours for the more out of the way places. You will meet a wide variety of people when staying here as well as the guests there are also volunteers and the friendly locals who work there. A car is recommended if using the Lodge as a base but many people who stayed when I was there used local buses, taxis  and hitch hiking to get around. I would recommend the evening meals as the food is excellent and as it is eaten communally it gives everyone the chance to share their days experiences accompanied with the background hum of the rainforest . I can’t wait to visit again soon.
