Friendly service with Big smiles, a gorgeous cabin topped off with delicious food served In Big portions.

We loved our stay here! The room is unique, log style.. Bed is comfortable with clean toilet. Nice view from balcony. Only downside is there are lotssss of flies! 

The owner & staff are very friendly. We had one day breakfast, it was enough varieties for breakfast. 

As for the restaurant: it is really amazing & delicious! Note: always make reservation because they are always full full full! We dined here for 2 nights and both dinner were really amazing (photos shown).

We came for the fishing, but the hotel was a joy in itds own right.  A bit difficult to get used to at first - very busy with a large party -  but then really warmed to the place.  the owners are exceptionally friendly and the location perfect.  we had two days fishing here and caught nothing whilst the locals also caught nothing but showed us pictures of their enormous fish.  thats life.  Cabins are excellent.  I very much look forward to returning.

Check in and check out were very flexible, staff was very kind. The room was clean and seemed new. Outside was a little place to sit with a very beautiful view! We enjoyed our stay in Hodde Kro.

Atmospheric old inn in small village surrounded by beautiful country side.   Accommodation in modern comfortable huts which were very comfortable.   Great restaurant with homely well cooked food based on local dishes.

Unconventional and pleasant stay. Cozy and warm bungalow. Big parking. Extremely quiet and calm place.

Wonderful and different experience in the middle of countryside. New, clean and confortable cabin. Nice playground for children outside.

We stayed here the night after a visit to Legoland, only 30 minutes away. Highly recommend over the x-fold more expensive options in Billund (did that years ago). Very easy to reach. Quite enjoyed our (3 adults) stay in one of the 4-person cabins. Clean, quiet, comfortable, secure WiFi, nice breakfast buffet, friendly proprietors.

We chose this location due to the novelty value of these rooms come shelters, which appear very unique and cosy. Certainly we'd never seen anything like them before, but appartently have been on this site for 30 years! That said they appeared practically brand new, well kept and above all clean. Yes it was cosy, but big enough for two for a couple of nights. The TV had lots of channels, the shower was hot and powerful, but be warned after 10 minutes, the immersion heater will run out of hot water, so keep it short and sweet. The breakfast (included) was traditional Danish fayre, and if you fancy dinner, the restaurant has a good selection of food to tempt you. Even on a Tuesday night the place was rammed, so booking a table is highly recommended.

A great and very individual place to escape from any city noise or mainstream hotel chains.The small huts are very cosy and comfy... Simple, yet with everything you need.And it's great value for money too.

Luxury Andersen Shelter

The new cottages were not only aesthetically pleasing, but was very clean and has everything you need inside. Nothing over the top but also very clean and practical. Breakfast was delicious, comes with the room,  and tables are set up for guests according to the time you request. Dining is optional with reservation at the restaurant, but definitely recommend eating here if you want the full Danish food experience. Loved it all and the old vs new concept.

Excellent Stay

The good old "kro mad" (Inn Food) is splendid here. Hodde kro' signature serving must be the huge wienerschnitzel or as it also known the elephant ear - due to the size of the schnitzel. The portions are very generous no matter what you chose. Should you have room for it I can recommend their Tarteletter which are absolutely nice. 
Have a go at the Warvick beers - not bad at all.
Will we be back ? Yes of course we will.

We visited with Danish friends and family, who promised us something exceptional. They were not wrong. A beautiful old-fashioned inn, looking very much as it might have done 100 years ago.  Our friends had booked in advance, which was a good thing as all of the tables were reserved, which is always a good sign. Likewise, despite this inn being located in a small village in darkest West Jutland, the car park was almost full.

Why had so many people made their way to such an out of the way location? The reasons soon became clear.  A welcoming atmosphere, friendly host and staff and a menu featuring good solid Danish dishes, served just as they have been for years.

If you like small tasty morsels of fancy French food served on funky crockery, don't go to Hodde Kro!  The portions were huge. Enormous. The wiener schnitzel is nicknamed an 'Elephant's Ear' which is an apt description of the largest schnitzel by far that I have ever seen. The minced beef burger with bearnaise sauce similarly large. Steaks were big, juicy and perfectly cooked. We made the mistake of ordering a starter as well, so none of our party managed to finish their main courses and we had to completely miss the tempting desserts.

All in all, a great experience and one we will definitely repeat, but I'll probably not eat for a week beforehand to work up an appetite.

Finally, the bill.  Starters and main course for 4 adults and a child. Including wine, beer and a soft drink. Less than Kr 900 (or a little under £90).  That is about £20 a head, for an excellent meal in charming, friendly surroundings.  Unbelievably good!

Step back in time and enjoy a typically Danish inn

We stayed in the area in August and frankly found it difficult to find places to eat. We took the three children here for a meal and were all very happy. The children had burger and chips which were of a very good quality. Husband and I had the Jaeger schnitzel (apologies that I have not got that quite right!). It was absolutely delicious and if we were able to come back we would have ordered the same thing again! Portion size was great.
The restaurant was very pleasant and the staff helpful although as we did not speak any Danish and were not used to Danish culture, it was not very easy to communicate.
What's not to like?
