Bakkegaard Møns Klint

I stayed here with a friend on a trip to see Møns Klint. We rode the bus here, and walked up the hill to the hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and gave us a map of the cliffs, and suggested routes to us, since we were hiking around. It’s a totally doable walk, and very beautiful. 

The room I had was small and very clean and had its own sink, and the bathroom was shared with the floor. The view was overlooking the ocean and was awesome. 

I loved seeing the baskets of Klaus Titze in the sitting and reception rooms. 

We availed ourselves of the frozen dinners from the freezer, and they were quite good. 
Breakfast was simple and bountiful. The view from the dining room was spectacular.  Next door there was a fresh apple cider stand, and the cider was a great treat down by the sea. 

Cozy Bed and Breakfast

The photos misrepresent what the building looks like. We did not stay in the old building displayed. The wing in which we were put is an outbuilding ( although thatched ) with a narrow dark corridor and 1 rather grotty toilet and 1 shower to be shared between 7 rooms. Not only do you have to pay extra  for sheets but you have to put them on yourself ! The view although absolutely beautiful is about 400 metres from the coastline. There is no reception for hours on end. So it is basically a youth hostel for which we paid £100 for one night.

Spending a week in one of Bakkegaardens beautifully decorated rooms, waking every morning to a chorus of birdsong, walking in the spectacular scenery of the Klint, having one's palate caressed by healthy organic food and speaking with the interesting, caring and positive host couple is like having a full body and mind service check. You are a better person when you check out than you checked in.

Recharging the mental batteries

I say it's a B&B because people think they are in a hotel, but here you'll need to share a toilet with 6 other rooms, you need to pay for the bed sheet, and breakfast is not included (only of you pay!).

Despite all that (because it's a B&B) everything was PERFECT!! The B&B has an AMAZING view over the Baltic Oceans with some chairs to enjoy the gorgeous view!! It's a "must stay" just because of the view (:D).

It is really close (like 3km drive) from the Møns Klint.

The breakfast was simple but good.

The staff was super helpful and kind!!

A stop by at Stege (to eat) would be a good choice.

Anyway, I would return definitely!!

Its a B&B!!!

The place is perfectly located, it is easy to get to Møns Klint (not to walk there, though) and to the Geo Center. There are, however, lovely places for a walk, there are places to sit and watch at the landscape or you can sit in the yard at the table. Lots of parking places available. We skipped the breakfast, but we applied for dinner (which was served at six). It was excellent and we couldn't get enough of young potatoes, beetroot salad and some carrot dish. Food is made by the owner. Toilet is shared and it has a shower cabin, which is not the end of the world. The place was not full so there was a relatively small number of people using it at that time. And you do have to make our own bed since the linen is packed in a small bag together with the towel. No complementary toiletries, not even a soap in the room (each room has a sink). The place is insanely decorated, each room has a different theme (ours was apple room), the sitting area is also filled with paintings and ornaments. Some of that is for sale and there is a small selection of household items with the local motifs that are for sale. It is possible to buy wine, beer, and other food items (simply take them from the fridge and write it down). Wifi available. It is a bit tricky to get to the upper floor because the stairs are too steep. The sitting area is spacious and has a tv, music player, toys for children... The place has it flaws and it is not that cheep, but we enjoyed it.
