Lovely place, wonderful people and amazing food! The rooms were pretty spacious except for small bathrooms. The staff was amazing and were so welcoming. We had a wonderful dinner in the restaurant (halibut!) and the breakfast was all homemade and simply great! Eggs plus fresh baked bread and homemade jams. Also other assorted tasty treats. The owner and her daughter were just so kind and did a wonderful job making us feel at home and cared for during our stay.

During 10 days traveling to cities and villages of Denmark, Hotel Inger provided the most gracious hospitality of all our various lodgings.  Kudos to this family for maintaining a traditional inn with home style cooking and home style hospitality.  Do not miss!  The hiking in the area is epic.

Such a charming place to stay. Family owned and operated for generations now. The breakfast is outstanding. Loved every moment of my stay. Very close to the sand dunes and 12 minutes to Skagen.

Fantastic Breakfast/Dinner. They have bicycles available to rent. All of the staff are friendly and helpful. We loved our stay.

We were hosted in the "Villa", a quite wide and clean apartment with bedroom, living room with two beds, and a comfortable bathroom. We also had a garden and covered parking for our car. Breakfast was very genuine and rich. Highly recommended!

It's a family owned property. They are very friendly and helpful. The food was all home cooked and very delicious. We loved this place and will book there again when returning to Denmark.

It was unfortunate that we had only an abbreviated one-night stay at this Hotel.  Very secluded but within a short drive to Skagen.  Very warm and welcoming woman at reception who shared the history of the hotel.  Breakfast was incredible.  All in all a very lovely stay and look forward to the opportunity to stay again.

You must stay here!

Our room was Spartan but clean. The “bathroom” was tiny and not easy to use…
The staff were lovely, and the hotel run by an on-site family. 
The food was exceptionably good. The best shellfish dinner I’ve ever had, with excellent wine matching (by the manageress, and the breakfast simple but so good, with specially selected cheese and homemade pastries and jams. Really something different - please don’t stop making the effort - it is appreciated! We’ll be back.

Absolute top staff and food!

Nice "retro" hotel run by very friendly mother and daugther. "Retro" because hotel is still the same as run by grandmother in the past, and they have the "lobby" (in seventies green) to prove it. The flat screen TV is the only item upgraded.But very helpfull staff, and fresch local food for dinner.Also quiet at night and nice clean rooms. We only stayed for a single night as we were passing though, but there were bicycles for rent to explore the surroundings.

70-ties Retro hotel near Skagen

Hulsig is a small village but there are trains to Skagen (15min travel) every hour until late if one want to go out in Skagen (there is also a resturant at the hotel).The hotel is very traditional and not so much seems to have changes over the years. However, my room wasn't located in the hotel buikding but in a villa from the 60s-70s next dorr which has been incorporated in the hotel. Felt a bit strange first with a room in a villa but worked well.The breakfast (served in the main building) was great and the staff was very friendly.

Traditional hotel in a small village

This is a family hotel, run by mother and daughter  who do everything; reception, restaurant, cooking, etc, etc. Guests that are used  to the bigger and more business like hotels might not  feel at home. But we did, indeed. Rooms are small and  somehow old fashioned but clean and comfortable. Breakfast is rather basic but a very good experience. Home cooking  -  that Danes really know how to do. Wifi was fine but no TV in the room (not missed by us)
Negative, perhaps, is the location  which is some KM from Skagen centre. There is a  train 200m away that runs every 30 minutes (somewhat erratic schedule) and takes only a few minutes to  town. 
We are used to bigger hotels but very much enjoyed  this family  operation  and thank mother and daughter who cared very well for their guests.

Recommendable

Very nice hotel, that keeps the spirit and hygge of Danmark 20 years ago. Very friendly, warm and open-minded hosts, that provided us with a lot of interesting information. Our room was big and bright, good bed, large cabinet and bathroom, very clean. The hotel is close to the railroad (which actually you do not hear) and the vestkystrouten 1 (cyclingroute along Danmarks coast) and therefor perfect to explore the northmost part of Danmark. Traditionel danish breakfast and dinner of high quality at a very good price.

The hotels atmosphere is nostalgic.

On arrival we first thought we may have made a mistake booking this hotel (not impressed).Small room where the bathroom was an obvious 'add-on' and very compact.  Rather plain surroundings etc.  By the end our our 2-day stay we were, however, very happy with our choice.The friendly and very personable staff (mother and daughter team), the simple comforts, slow pace and neighborhood/location - biking (or long walk) distance to the beach, 7 minute car-ride to Skagen, walking distance to the train station and the home-made breakfast included (delicious bread and jams etc.).

Vintage (Retro) hotel Near Skagen

It was a great experience for my family to stay in this hotel. The location was very central to skagens tourist attraction. The family who run the hotel were sweet and attentive to what we need as a guest. It was a home away from home for us, as they welcome us warmly. I certainly recommend this hotel for travellers, also because of their homemade breakfast, it was an added bonus.
