Hotel Dania

Hotel Dania is well located right at the center of Silkeborg next to the old City Hall (now a very good tapas place) and walking distance from the historic baths. Service is good - the team contacted me in advance about my check-in time, and then let me check in a couple of hours early - and the breakfast buffet is extensive. (I would have liked some maple syrup for my pancakes, however.) The hotel is historic in every sense of the word - an 1848 building with traditional furniture, traditional dishes in the restaurant, and even staff that seems to be made up largely of mature people. My small room had an up-to-date bathroom with good water pressure and was very clean, but had old-fashioned electrical outlets that had to be turned on and off with a switch. It was quiet and bed quality was good. Bottom line: this is a historic hotel, but not a trendy historic hotel. If those are your expectations, you'll have a good night's stay, as I did.
